AWC is hiring a full time Material Handling Support at our Baltimore Fairfield location (Curtis Bay area). The shift is days Monday-Friday. The Material Handling Support position works closely with hourly associates, AWC staff, the customer, and supplier representatives.
The primary objective of this role is to support daily production by:
Supplying materials to the production areaBreaking down and disposal of dunnageDisposing of waste materialsThis description provides a general overview of the role and is not intended to be a complete list of all responsibilities. Duties may change at any time without notice.
Essential Functions, Duties and Tasks:
Coordinate the breakdown, disposition, and removal of disposable production dunnage
Separate the non-recyclable materials and debris from the recyclableBreak down the cardboard dunnage and prepare for bundlingSeparate cardboard dunnage from wood palletLoad cardboard into bailer until bailer reaches full capacity
Cycle bailer machine and manually band cardboard dunnage, preparing it for pick upUtilizing pallet jack, replenish Zone 2 production with bulk load floor production materialsProduce the appropriate level of primed fiber glass panels for production
Utilize VIPS to determine the appropriate type, color, and quantity of panels to producePrepares work station and mixes primer, at the beginning of the shiftObtains the appropriate panel from inventory and inspects for quality defects
Reports all defects to the department supervisorCleans and prepares surface, and applies primerDelivers completed panels to Zone 2 of the production areaAssemble and replenish Kitting Carts to the appropriate production area
Obtain work order from each vehicle and verify the VIN of vehicle is the VIN on the work orderDetermine build type and appropriate Kitting CartDeliver Kitting Cart to the designated area in the proper work stationMonitor production area and return cart to the materials departmentRestock lower shelving area with bulk material, utilizing pallet jackDisposition unused air bags for proper disposalUnload small lot materials from shipping container onto inventory rackKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market considerations.

Summary of Position:
The Assistant Yard Supervisor interfaces with all AWC associates and management personnel, customer representatives, trucking company representatives, and AWC office staff. The overall objective of this position is to maintain a safe, efficient, and even flow of traffic in the yard.
Essential functions, Duties & Tasks:
Drive the New Vehicle Transporters and Transfer crew associates to and from bay locations, inbound receiving and load staging area.Accurately complete all receiving, storage, and releasing paperworkEnsure that customer vehicles are pulled in an efficient and accurate order according to customer requests and AWC needsAssign work to New Vehicle Transporters, Transfer Crew and temporary workersRecommends disciplinary action to be taken against employeeWorks with management team to recommend needed staffing changes/modificationWorks with Yard supervisor to develop staffing assignmentsAssist New Vehicle Transporters and Transfer Crew in training new temporary workersObserve New Vehicle Transporters, Transfer Crew, and temporary workers as they perform daily tasks and instruct them on appropriate work behavior and/or performance issues as neededComplete the daily movement worksheet and return it to the Yard Supervisor at the end of each shiftInspect van to ensure proper maintenance of vehicle and make repair requests to Yard SupervisorUtilize radio to communicate with management personnel in a professional mannerInsure that all customer vehicles are gassed and contain proper documentsKeeps Yard Supervisor informed of any significant departmental issuesReact to change productivelyOther duties as assigned (may include administrative or other supervisory)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
