FIELD TECHNICIAN
REMEDIAL CONSTRUCTION
Looking for an experienced candidate with construction labor experience. Construction labor experience and/or OSHA Hazwoper (40-hour) certification a plus. This position is in a construction environment, working around heavy equipment. It requires travel to multiple state client locations, working outdoors in all types of weather, and lifting 50-100 lbs.
Responsible for performing various aspects of field work related to soil excavation/removal, remediation systems installation, demolition, and clean construction. Includes site grading; site capping; underground storage tank (UST) removals, emergency response; and chemical mixing operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist Heavy Equipment Operators with field execution of projects.Working on equipment when broken down in the field, shoveling soil cuttings, moving filled drums, saw cutting and working with concrete, and heavy lifting. Must have a willingness to learn to operate heavy construction equipment to include: skid steer loaders, bull dozers, excavators, front end loaders, backhoes etc.Some positions learn to operate a variety of equipment: air monitoring equipment for health and safety, laser, concrete saw, jackhammer, drum vacuum, pressure washer, generator, trash pump, fusion welder, cutting torches, welding equipment, air knife, compressor, forklift, skid steer and attachments, and mini-excavator.Assist in loading trucks and other job preparation activities.Mobilize to and from project job sites.Setup job, complete load lists, and perform on-site work.Verify public and private utility locates have been completed and are appropriately marked before performing any work. The Senior Environmental Engineering Manager is an internally focused leadership role responsible for providing strategic and technical oversight for the Engineering Group within the Technical Services Department. Education: A.S. or B.S. in geology, engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or related field OR GED with significant relevant experience in the industry
Recommended Experience: 5+ years experience in Building Sciences and Industrial Hygiene related consulting
Certifications: Asbestos Building Inspector; Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor; Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, & Restoration Certification (IICRC) Mold Remediation or Water Restoration Certifications; OSHA 40 hours Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Certification (40 hours) or General Industry 10 or 30 Hour Certifications are a plus; Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
Skills: Strong computer and verbal/written communication skills are a must
Additional requirements: Must be physically capable of operating vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, have an acceptable driving record, and receive a medical clearance from a baseline physical
This classification requires travel to various client locations. Travel typically involves day trips within the state or neighboring states, resulting in longer workdays; and may include extended and/or further travel, resulting in multiple days and overnights. Long distance drives and air travel may be required.
