    The Role:

    We are seeking a highly motivated Wastewater Engineer to join the team. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of budgeting, design, and construction of Water and Wastewater treatment plants. This includes design specifications and calculations, submittal drawings, assistance with bid proposals, etc. This will be a hybrid role, based out of our Houston office.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    · Process design of water and wastewater treatment plants, including activated sludge, biological nutrient removal, disinfection, and physic-chemical treatment processes.

    · Prepare technical specifications and design calculations.

    · Oversee the development of the submittal, shop, and construction drawings.

    · Assist in the preparation of bid proposals.

    · Site visits to plant facilities as required.

    · Act as a liaison with public and private sector clients, government review and approval agencies, consultants, and contractors.

    · Review local, state, and federal regulatory requirements for compliance.

    Requirements:

    Qualification/Requirements:

    · Familiarity with environmental regulations is an asset.

    · Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite

    · Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language.

    · Must be able to develop and make good use of process and instrumentation drawings.

    · An intense motivation for professional growth and a strong desire to learn.

    · Ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently under tight deadlines.

    · Ability to work hybrid schedule (2 days per week in the office, required).

    · Ability to travel as needed.


    Education/Experience:

    · Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering from an accredited university. Master’s degree is preferred.

    · Must have an Engineer-in-Training certification or be eligible to take and pass the required examination within six months.

    · Experience in Wastewater Treatment Plants or similar highly preferred.

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Design Manager to lead our drafting and design team in delivering high-quality fabrication and construction documentation for modular water and wastewater treatment systems. This role is responsible for ensuring technical excellence, consistency, and efficiency across all design outputs, while continuously improving tools, processes, and team capabilities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, design automation, and team development within an engineering-driven environment.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


    Leadership & Oversight

    · Provide final review and approval of all fabrication and construction drawings prior to release.

    · Lead the resolution of complex design and component challenges.

    · Guide selection of varies treatment structures and layouts that would include elevated headworks structures, WWTP phasing layouts, screening equipment and outfalls.

    · Conduct mid-year and end-of-year performance reviews and lead goal-setting conversations for team members.

    · Lead staff development initiatives and foster a high-performance team culture.

    · Manage departmental budget, including resource planning and allocation for training, hardware, software, and tools.

    · Identify, evaluate, and implement strategies and technologies to improve design workflows and team productivity.


    Standards & Process Management

    · Ensure adherence to internal design standards and best practices.

    · Develop, maintain, and enforce SOPs for drafting and design workflows.

    · Set and maintain standards for design templates, part numbering, and drawing formatting.


    Technical & Collaborative Duties

    · Oversee creation and management of Autodesk Inventor Content Center and part libraries.

    · Develop Excel-based engineering tools to assist with design and fabrication calculations.

    · Implement and manage iLogic scripts in Inventor to automate tasks and improve model consistency.

    · Coordinate design team workload and priorities in collaboration with project managers.

    · Support site visits to evaluate complex design challenges and integration needs.


    Systems Oversight (in collaboration with internal IT and team leads)

    · Oversee the installation, updating, and troubleshooting of design software across the team (Autodesk Suite).

    · Advise in the procurement and lifecycle planning of design team hardware.

    · Administer and maintain the structure and settings of Autodesk Vault server and client configurations.

    Requirements:

    Qualification/Requirements:

    · Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field.

    · 8+ years of professional experience in mechanical, structural, or industrial design, preferably in water/wastewater or modular system environments.

    · 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a design or CAD management role.

    · Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and Vault Professional.

    · Strong knowledge of fabrication practices, construction documentation, and design standards.

    · Proven experience with process documentation and SOP development.


    Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

    · Proficiency with iLogic scripting in Autodesk Inventor.

    · Experience developing and managing Excel-based design tools.

    · Strong project coordination skills and ability to balance priorities across multiple teams.

    · Experience with budget planning and department-level resource allocation.

    · Exposure to modular water/wastewater treatment system design or related mechanical/structural system design.

    · Working knowledge of Procore or equivalent construction management software.

    Job Summary:

    A Field Construction Manager oversees and coordinates construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality and EH&S standards. They manage a team, including supervisors and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and project specifications.

    Requirements:Periodically transfer cranes from one site to another (CDL license required). Monitor and oversee progress of jobs start to finish including performance of job turn over meetings at start of project, handle field corrections process and documentation, complete job close meeting, conduct onsite safety audits, etc. Maintain open communication with field supervisors, project managers, construction managers, etc. on needed equipment/materials per job site. Develop efficiency initiatives to ensure project improvement metrics.Review engineering and CAD drawings for accuracy and efficient project flow.Participate in monthly project meetings, safety meetings, and field or crew scheduling.Confirm accuracy of job site foundations (elevations and dimensions) before crew arrives.Collaborate with EH&S manager to promote efficiency and safe working practices.Coach and mentor field team members while sharing knowledge. Communicate clear expectations within team. Will spend time in the office for project review meetings, and has expectations to regularly visiting the job-sites to evaluate safety measures, review site progress, interacting with Field Supervisors and crews to ensure timely delivery of projects, and ensure efficiency in processes on the sites. May also visit and assess customer sites that may be upcoming refurbishments.Will liaison between field crew and project site contractors (non- AUC staff) Will also help with hiring process for contractors and Field Supervisors, and assess weld testing results and skills. Will help with purchasing of field equipment for field personnel.Will require significant travel to job-sites, and if based in Dallas, will need to travel to Houston 50% of the time to help manage Houston crews and job-sites as well as spend time in the AUC corporate office.

    Qualification/Requirements:

    Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated dedication to safety.Strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus. Strong and successful leadership skills.Ability to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels.

    Education/Experience:

    Construction management experience preferredExperience managing field crews, metal welding projects and reading/interpreting blueprints requiredCDL license highly preferred.
