    POSITION SUMMARY

     

    Stored Energy Holdings – through its legacy companies Northeast Battery, Tri-State Battery, Master Battery and Battery Men – has been in business for nearly forty years, supporting our customers and their businesses through distribution warehouses across the northeastern quadrant of the US. We provide batteries and stored energy solutions to customers in support of critical infrastructure, emergency services and first responders, public transportation, automotive and commercial trucking fleets, industrial facilities and hospitals, and remote backup power needs. We also help keep everyone moving so they can enjoy their valuable free time, powering golf carts and other electric vehicles, boats and RV’s, motorcycles, snowmobiles and ATV’s, and anything else you can think of that moves! And we rely on our GREAT sales and service drivers to provide the BEST possible experience for our customers when we deliver their batteries and other products and pick up their cores.

     

    We are growing rapidly, and we are seeking experienced Class B Route Sales/Service Drivers. Our Sales/Service Drivers represent our company and serve our customers safely and professionally, reporting to the Warehouse Manager and the Fleet Operations Manager.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    Driving and Warehouse

    Transport new batteries and spent cores in strict and diligent compliance with all USDOT regulations and in accordance with dispatch instructionsComplete all deliveries while meeting all professional expectations every dayInspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenanceProperly document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receiptsComply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and proceduresManeuver trucks safely and efficiently into loading or unloading positions, at all times respectful of the property of our customer and othersSafely operate electric and manual pallet jacks and lift gatesMust have forklift experience as well for loading at distribution warehouses and customer sites as requiredImmediately report defects, accidents, and violationsLoad/unload truck at beginning/end of day as needed and complete all required end-of-day activities thoroughly and accurately.Assist as needed inside warehouses to support pick/pack/ship and battery check/charge operations, physical inventory counts, etc.

    Customer Service / Sales

    You are first and foremost our Ambassador. Our Route Sales/Service Drivers have more face-to-face interaction with our customers than anyone else in the company.You are responsible for delivering our product to customers and retrieving cores or other product from our customers to return to our distribution warehouseThis is NOT a “bump the dock and stand by” CDL driver job – you’ll cheerfully help customers get the batteries to the location they want in their facility and retrieve, lift, stack, and properly wrap cores if they’re not already prepared by the customer.You will be proactive in communicating with customers, always asking for cores, always asking what else you/we can do for them before moving on to the next delivery.You will take every opportunity during customer deliveries to observe product the customer may have on hand from other suppliers and engage with customers to ascertain whether we may be able to supply them.In the course of your daily business, you’ll see opportunities for new business and communicate leads to the sales teamYou will maintain a clean and neat appearance, and be professional and courteous at all timesOur customers’ success depends on your follow up to what you see. You will communicate to the sales and warehouse management teams when you see opportunities for us to be a better partner with our customers.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Demonstrated commitment to excellence in driving customer success and valueAt least 21 years of age, with valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL - B).Strong customer service skillsAt least 1 year of driving Box Truck and delivery experience.Meet Northeast Battery MVR and risk rating qualifications.Batteries are heavy. Safely lift and move products and pallets which may weigh up to 75 pounds.No more than 2 Moving Violations in the past 3 years.No DUIs in the past 7 years.Must be able to get a minimum of 1-year Medical Certificate.Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, XRS, etc.).Effective verbal and written communication skills
