    Minnesota Licensed Family Law Attorney (Remote)


    Atticus Family Law is seeking a Minnesota-licensed attorney to join our growing family law team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to manage your own caseload while receiving strong support from experienced paralegals, legal assistants, and proven systems designed to help you succeed.


    We are looking for an attorney who is passionate about helping clients through difficult transitions and who values collaboration, flexibility, and excellent client service.

Our fully remote team serves clients in the Minneapolis area, backed by proven systems that let attorneys focus on meaningful legal work rather than administrative noise.


    This is a role for an attorney with at least two years of Minnesota family law experience who is ready to grow. You will work alongside a team that takes mentorship seriously, values honest collaboration, and holds itself to a high standard — for clients and for each other.

    Responsibilities:

    What You’ll Do

    Manage a full caseload of family law matters from start to finish. Oversee cases from intake through resolution, ensuring deadlines are met and client needs are consistently addressed.Handle all phases of litigation and case development. Prepare motions, affidavits, legal arguments, and trial materials that support strong, strategic outcomes.Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and ADR proceedings. Advocate with professionalism and confidence in both formal and informal settings.Advise clients on strategy and next steps. Provide practical, tailored guidance that empowers clients to make informed decisions.Maintain clear, proactive communication. Keep clients informed on case progress while effectively managing communication with opposing counsel and other stakeholders.Collaborate with paralegals and legal staff. Work closely with a supportive team to ensure thorough preparation and efficient case management.Conduct legal research and stay current on Minnesota family law. Apply relevant statutes and case law while anticipating changes that may impact your cases.Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards. Protect client confidentiality and maintain integrity in all aspects of your work.Keep cases organized and moving forward. Utilize firm systems to track progress, manage tasks, and ensure matters advance efficiently.
    Qualifications:Licensed and in good standing with the Minnesota Bar.2+ years of experience in family law, with familiarity with MN procedures.Detail-oriented and dependable—you’ll have strong systems and paralegal support behind you.Skilled in clear, professional communication with clients, courts, and colleagues.Able to manage multiple cases with structure and efficiency—our team handles intake, billing, and admin, so you can focus on your legal work.Comfortable using legal and case management technology—we provide Clio, MS Office, Westlaw, and more to streamline your day.Collaborative and open to feedback—we work as a team, not in silos.Committed to client experience—our attorneys guide clients with compassion and professionalism at every step.

    Responsibilities:

    Draft high-quality pleadings and litigation materials

    Prepare motions, affidavits, memoranda, and trial briefs that are clear, strategic, and persuasive.

    Prepare for and lead all stages of court proceedings

    Handle hearings, motion practice, settlement conferences, and trials with confidence and attention to detail.

    Advocate effectively in the courtroom

    Present witness testimony and evidence in a compelling and professional manner.

    Develop and drive case strategy

    Lead strategic planning for complex family law matters, including divorce, child custody, parenting time, and spousal maintenance.

    Conduct legal research and analysis

    Apply Minnesota statutes, case law, and procedural rules to strengthen arguments and guide case direction.

    Manage discovery and analyze evidence

    Oversee discovery, review financial documentation, and synthesize key facts to support case strategy.

    Negotiate and resolve disputes

    Work with opposing counsel and represent clients in settlement discussions and mediation with a solutions-focused approach.

    Provide direct client guidance

    Maintain strong client relationships while delivering clear, strategic legal advice throughout the case.

    Draft substantive legal correspondence

    Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel through well-crafted written communication.

    Supervise and mentor support staff

    Review and guide the work of paralegals and legal staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality output.
