    ABOUT ATLAS IMMERSION ACADEMY

    Atlas Immersion Academy is a multilingual early childhood education organization offering French, Spanish, and Chinese immersion programs for children from 3 months through Pre-K across five Portland Metro campuses. Starting August 31, 2026, our Multnomah County campuses will operate as Preschool For All (PFA) facilities — Multnomah County's initiative providing free, high-quality preschool to eligible 3- and 4-year-olds. We are now hiring French-speaking Lead Teachers for our Gabriel Park and Hawthorne campuses to join this exciting launch.


    THE ROLE

    As a Lead Teacher, you are the heart of the classroom. You will plan and deliver French immersion-based curriculum aligned with the Atlas framework and Multnomah County PFA standards, support each child's social-emotional development, build strong partnerships with families, and mentor your assistant teacher. Curriculum planning time is built into your weekly schedule.

    Lead Teachers are held to an elevated standard of professional practice, including ongoing documentation of each child's progress, regular curriculum reflections, family engagement events, and mentorship of classroom staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Step 7 on the Oregon Registry Online (ORO) is required.Fluency in French and English — all instruction and classroom conversation will be conducted in French, while most family communication will be in English. One of the following: Associate degree in ECE or related field with 1 year of experience with children ages 2.5–5 in a licensed setting; Bachelor's or Master's degree in ECE or related field; or equivalent combination of education and qualifying teaching experienceExperience in early childhood education in a licensed preschool or childcare setting preferred

    Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days:

    THE CAMPS:

    Every week at Atlas Explorers Summer Camp, children ages 512 travel to a new corner of the world Sweden, Samoa, Korea, Chile, France, and more through hands-on activities, crafts, science, cooking, theater, and field trips. It's a multilingual camp experience in Spanish, French, and English, and we need energetic counselors to help bring it to life!


    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    Lead groups of school-age children through culturally themed activities Use Spanish or French as your primary language throughout the dayJoin field trips, parent showcases, and weekly theme celebrationsKeep campers safe, engaged, and excited to come back tomorrow


    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

    Conversational fluency in Spanish or French (you'll be actively speaking it with kids) Energy, patience, and genuine enthusiasm for working with children ages 512Availability for the full season: early June to early September.Prior experience with children (camp, childcare, tutoring) is a plus
