Overview Of The Role
The Project Engineer for our Heavy Civil Projects will work on projects for Government, State, Military and/or Private clients. The field engineer plays a vital role in supporting on-site construction activities for heavy civil projects. This position ensures that work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications. This role is critical to maintaining AIS Infrastructure's high-quality deliverables, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence.

Our AIS West Project Team will be needing several Project Engineers, Office Engineers and Field Engineers for our awarded projects. Please review all postings and locations and indicate to the recruiter your interest.
As a Project Engineer you'll work on one project at a time with the opportunity to expand your experience as new projects start. We need your expertise in need your expertise in construction of roadways and drainage along the border of Mexico, Texas, California and Arizona. These projects kick off first Quarter 2026 and will approximately be 3 years in duration. Our backlog is healthy and if your background in civil construction is in line with the work we do then we want to hear from you. Your Work Will Include:
Assist in developing and implementing project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule.Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and assessments to evaluate project requirements and constraints.Review detailed engineering designs, specifications, and drawings.Prepare project work plans, work element plans, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project requirements are met.Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.Manage project engineering assignments and activities to ensure compliance with company, contract, and schedule requirements.Provide technical support in construction planning, quality control, interpretation of design, application of construction methods, resolution and documentation of design conflicts, and constructability reviews.Develop and maintain all job reporting, including quality control reports and logs to ensure project compliance.Here's what you'll need
At least five years of experience in the Heavy Civil Construction industryKnowledge and experience in quantity take-off systems and Primavera Scheduling software.Ideally, You'll Also Have

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring the adherence to quality standards and protocols in all construction and industrial services projects. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of AIS Infrastructure's deliverables, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement quality control procedures and guidelines for heavy civil construction and industrial services projects.Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with quality standards and specifications.Identify and address any quality issues, non-conformities, or deficiencies in construction processes, materials, or workmanship.Collaborate with project teams to establish corrective actions and preventive measures to improve quality performance.Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure alignment with quality requirements.Provide guidance and support to project teams regarding quality control practices and requirements.Conduct training sessions to enhance the understanding of quality standards and procedures among project personnel.Monitor the implementation of quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle.Generate reports and documentation to track and communicate quality performance metrics.Participate in quality-related meetings and provide input to enhance overall project quality.EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on quality control, is required for this role.Experience with at least 2 federal design-build projects and at least 2 construction projects with a value of $10 million or more is required for this role.Experience with heavy civil construction projects is highly preferred.Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities, including military bases.Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Relevant certifications in quality control or quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager, Certified Quality Engineer) are preferred.In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.Strong familiarity with relevant quality control tools, equipment, and software.Strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and best practices in construction and industrial services.Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve quality-related issues.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess situations and develop appropriate solutions.Effective communication skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.TRAVEL
