    Clinical Support & Documentation

    Perform accurate and consistent documentation and assist with tests/measurements, including:Visual acuity and manual lensometryVisual fields, stereo testing, and motility evaluationPupillary function tests, color vision, and applanation tonometryRefractometry, dilation of pupils, contact lens evaluationsVisual field testing and imaging (OCT, HRT, GDx)Pachymetry and corneal topographySupport physicians with additional diagnostic tasks as needed

    Arizona Eye Consultants is a growing, multi-specialty Ophthalmology and Optometry practice with five busy offices across Tucson. We are dedicated to delivering the highest quality of eye care and improving the lives of our patients.


    We are seeking a Medical Billing/Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to support our revenue cycle operations and ensure timely reimbursement. This role is an essential part of our team and offers the opportunity to grow within a supportive, patient-focused organization.


    Position Summary

    The Medical Billing/AR Specialist is responsible for managing insurance accounts receivable, denials management, payment posting, and billing inquiries. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical office environment.


    Key Responsibilities

    Review submitted claims and address rejections.Work insurance collections, aged accounts, and AR reports for maximum reimbursementMaintain accurate records of claim statuses, denials, and appealsPost insurance payments (mail and ERA) and document denialsRespond to patient and staff billing inquiries in a professional and timely mannerStay current with insurance plan updates and billing regulationsAnswer and route calls via a multi-line phone systemAssist teammates and support departmental goals as neededParticipate in training, webinars, and seminars to stay up to date in the field


    Qualifications

    Required

    High School Diploma or equivalent

    Preferred

    2+ years of medical billing experience1+ year of Ophthalmology/Optometry billing experienceKnowledge of CPT, ICD-10 coding, and insurance billing guidelinesFamiliarity with ocular/medical terminologyStrong communication, customer service, and computer skillsAbility to work MondayFriday, 8:00 am 5:00 pmWillingness to occasionally travel for training or company needs
