Role Description The Preconstruction Manager is responsible for all preconstruction activities on large-volume commercial construction projects, including: Developing preliminary budgets Value engineering Preconstruction schedules Procurement plans Prequalification of subcontractors Detailed take-off and estimating This position manages bid package scopes, the subcontractor/supplier bidding process, evaluation of bids, problem resolution, presentation of detailed estimates of the work, job communication, and client satisfaction activities, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives, and regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in engineering, construction management, building construction or a related field Minimum 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in estimating, common code requirements, and design/build estimating and preconstruction with a concentration in large commercial construction Minimum 2-3 years of project management experience Experience with computerized estimating systems and software Strong conceptual estimating skills Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices Extensive knowledge of electrical systems Skills to read, interpret and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications Experience and skills in project management leadership and practices Understanding of the project life cycle Training and work experience with LEAN methodologies and applications Strong process orientation Excellent verbal and written communication skills Requirements Can flex and adapt with the growing needs of the business Can work autonomously and creatively solve problems Has a growth mindset and is always looking to continually learn and grow Benefits Competitive health insurance options (medical, dental, and vision) Robust 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match Paid time off and holidays Access to wellness programs Professional development opportunities Tuition reimbursement Employee assistance programs to support growth and well-being
