    Summary:

    This position will be responsible for provide tactical and strategic support for the Oilseed's Refinery Department with direction provided from the Refinery Superintendent.

    Specific Job Duties

    * Maintains close contact with the operations, advising the Superintendent as problems are encountered.

    * Create action plans on how to eliminate bottlenecks and/or losses within Refinery

    * Proactively anticipates challenges and hazards and works to eliminate them before they impact the Refinery area, both for operations and safety

    * Utilize the Performance Excellence pillars to drive out losses and optimize Refinery area

    * Work directly with Maintenance department leaders to prioritize work orders

    * Determine the timing for execution of maintenance work orders as well as schedule and communicate lockout-Tagout activities with operators

    * Ability to complete in-depth and detailed troubleshooting of problematic systems and areas

    * Maintain operational standard work for operators to provide day to day guidance

    * Assists with operational activities on D3 and in field

    * Evaluate, follow-up and qualify trainees on required department competencies while ensuring timely progression of training as needed to further their training experiences

    * Collaborate with Refinery Superintendent to create strategic goals for Refinery to maintain optimal reliability and operations efficiency

    * Enter and approve Work Orders as issues arise that need attention with appropriate prioritization

    Authority: Plant Supervisor has the authority to modify work schedules, approve OT, sick, and vacation time in partnership with Plant Superintendent and Human Resources. Provides performance coaching to ensure company policies and procedures are applied evenly and actively followed.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    * Providing communications, guidance, and coaching to the production Team to assure that in-process and finished products meet or exceed quality and customer specifications.

    * Determines and communicates operator schedules, duties, and work-flow. Implements through timely coaching and review of written instructions.

    * Ensures employees are trained in SOP's, GMPs, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Allergen, Safety, and company policies and these programs are closely followed.

Will also inspect samples and fill out proper documentation. There is also housekeeping duties that need to be performed on a daily basis.

    Essential Job Functions

    * Assists with keeping process running by ensuring dirty product is feeding the process along with handling the finish product by filling bulk truck/rail cars or packaging it.

    * Analyzes sample results, verifying product quality and adherence to specifications and determines the adjustments needed to correct deviations.

    * Observes and acknowledges all alarm warnings.

    * Collect incoming and 100# samples and processes the 100# finish product sample, recording the data per plant requirements.

    * Troubleshoots problems by investigating and inspecting all process and machine malfunctions and utilizes mechanical, to solve and eliminate process related problems. Report problems to plant manager.

    * Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by complying with all plant safety policies regarding the use of hard hats, hearing protection, safety glasses and other personal protective equipment.

    * Communicates with personnel to ensure efficient coordination of the production process.
