    The Veterinary Clinic Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the veterinary clinic. This role ensures all patient areas, treatment spaces, exam rooms, kennels, and common areas are cleaned and disinfected according to clinic protocols and veterinary sanitation standards. The position supports the health and safety of patients, staff, and clients by maintaining strict cleanliness and infection control practices.

    Requirements:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Clean and disinfect exam rooms, treatment areas, surgical prep areas, and common spaces.Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors throughout the clinic.Clean and disinfect animal kennels, cages, and boarding areas following clinic protocols.Empty trash, recycling, and biohazard waste containers and dispose of waste according to safety guidelines.Clean and restock restroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.Wipe and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as counters, door handles, and equipment surfaces.Launder clinic towels, bedding, and cleaning cloths as needed.Maintain janitorial closets and ensure cleaning supplies are stocked.Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or supply shortages to management.Follow all clinic safety procedures, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and biological waste.Assist with occasional deep cleaning projects or special sanitation procedures.

    Qualifications

    Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred, particularly in veterinary environments.Ability to follow cleaning protocols and infection control procedures.Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks.Comfortable working around animals of all sizes and temperaments.Ability to work in an environment that may include noise, animal hair, and odors.

    Work Environment


    This position is in a fast-paced veterinary clinic environment, where exposure to animals, cleaning chemicals, and biological materials may occur. Proper protective equipment and safety procedures must be followed at all times.
