We are seeking a 10+ year Senior Backend Engineer / Tech Leadwho has built marketplaces, commerce engines, shopping cart workflows, or similar transactional platforms. Strong performance will result in full-time conversion. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership (0 1) Architect, design, and deliver the core backend systems for Drumwaves data valuation marketplace. Build foundational services including: user management, marketplace transactions, workflow engines, pricing/valuation services, and data APIs. Own system design decisions and ensure long-term scalability, security, and performance. Hands-On Engineering Write, review, and optimize code usingNode.jsandTypeScript. Build microservices, backend APIs, and integration pipelines usingPostgreSQL,AWS services, and modern serverless patterns. Lead full-stack development with light UI support where needed. Marketplace Engineering Design and implement marketplace capabilities (shopping cart workflows, transactions, payment flows, listings, and user interactions). Build and refine marketplace logic, search, metadata, and pricing models. Team Leadership Collaborate with engineering teams in Taiwan (daily syncs between57 PM PT). Mentor junior engineers and enforce coding standards and best practices. Work closely with product, design, and leadership to convert business needs into technical execution. Execution & Delivery Build quickly while keeping long-term architecture in mind. Establish engineering processes, code reviews, deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring. Ensure high-quality releases with short turnaround cycles. Core Technical Skills 10+ yearsof professional software engineering experience. Strong expertise inNode.js,TypeScript,PostgreSQL, andRESTful API design. Deep knowledge ofAWS Cloud(Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, EC2, CloudFormation/CDK or Terraform). Experience buildingmarketplacesorcommerce platforms(critical requirement). Experience building backend systems from scratch (0 1 product development). Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices, security, and system scaling. Leadership & Collaboration Prior experience as aTech Lead,Lead Engineer, orFounding Engineer. Ability to navigate ambiguous environments and deliver results without established infrastructure. Strong communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills. Bonus Experience with data platforms, data economy, or data valuation systems. Experience working with globally distributed teams.
