    The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc. is seeking a Substitute Driver to drive agency vehicles to transport individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Prince William County. This is a Substitute driver position and will be covering for drivers who are on leave as needed. The shift will be 5:30am-9:30am and 2:30pm-5:00pm during Monday - Friday as needed. Rate of pay $17-$18.50 depending on experience.

    Position Description:

    Under the supervision of the Director of Transportation, the Substitute Driver will drive an agency vehicle to transport individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The person must be physically able to operate a body on chassis passenger vehicle safely, assist riders, and perform pre-trip inspection maintenance checks on the vehicle. Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and exert up to 50 lbs. of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Operate a 14-passenger body on chassis vehicle transporting individuals to and from their work sites, recreational events, and day programs.Assist riders getting on/off the vehicle as needed.Maintain safety on the vehicle that includes ensuring all individuals are in their seats and wearing a seat belt when the vehicle is operational.Assist individuals in an emergency.Adhere to the pre-trip daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and preventive checklist.Ensuring that first aid and OSHA kits are replenished and checked monthly or as needed.Obey all local and state laws of the road; adhering to agency cell phone policy.The driver will personally clean the inside of the vehicle: sweep isles, flooring, windows, wipe down seats with disinfectant and all other surfaces as needed.Complete all necessary record keeping/paperwork and submit on time to Director of Transportation.Notify Director of Transportation if repairs are needed on vehicles as soon as possible and the proper person is notified for safety inspection and oil change. Maintain working relationship with individual's families and other employees.Be empathic to individual needs.Operate wheelchair lift safely with individuals.Use ADP mobile solutions for timekeeping.Assist the Director of Transportation as needed

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Licensed U.S. driver with a good driving record for the past three years of continuous driving experience and meets the Agency's insurance requirements. Physically able to operate vehicle safely and operate wheelchair lift.Physically able to enter vehicle without steps if steps are not available.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Minimum high school diploma or GEDMaintain a valid driver's license that is acceptable to agency standards.Good written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to attend and pass onsite training classes within the first 30 days of hire. Must pass Criminal and Child Protective Services Background investigations conducted for all employeesBe able to perform pre-trip inspection/maintenance checks.Provide a MVR annually to Director of Transportation.Adhere to random and annual drug testing.During first 6-8 weeks, applicant will be attending training to learn the driving routes of program participants.Must be compassionate and organized.

    The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc, a respected non-profit provider of residential, recreation, and day services for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), is seeking a Childcare Teacher Aide at our Muriel Humphrey Childcare Center located in Woodbridge, VA, 22193. The schedule is part-time Monday-Friday 3:30pm-6:30pm, 15 hours/week, $16.00/hour.


    1. Assists the Program Leader in the planning, development and implementation of one of the classrooms at the child care center.

    2. Responsible for the safety and well-being of the children in the assigned classrooms.

    3. Responsible for the insuring licensing requirements is being met at all times.

    4. Serves as a role model for the children.

    5. Helps the children in their self-care requirements.

    6. Works directly with the children in implementing the Center's program.

    7. Responsible for routine cleanliness of the classroom and the Center as required.

    8. Performs other such duties as may be required of the position as assigned by the Program Director and/or Supervisors.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Complete all new employee trainings. Establish a good rapport with the children. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with co-workers. Staff shall be capable of communicating effectively both orally and in writing as applicable to the job responsibility. Staff is capable of effectively communicating with emergency personnel.

    Qualifications

    1. Must be at least 16 years of age.

    2. Must have taken Infection Control training and/or retraining.

    3. Must satisfactorily complete required annual training hours as specified by Licensing Standards.

    Physical Qualifications

    Free of TB in the communicable form.

    Physically be able to lift children to changing table or to lower children to changing mat on floor.

    Able to assist children with evacuation.

    Able to assist children in wheelchairs.

    Able to communicate effectively with children.
