    We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with expertise in Linux system management to support an on-site environment within a mission-focused operations team. This role centers around the upkeep and enhancement of a critical geospatial platform used by Department of Defense (DoD) personnel. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex systems deployed on-premises.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead initiatives to upgrade and optimize system functionality.Collaborate closely with both government representatives and industry partners to resolve technical challenges.Proactively suggest improvements to system configurations for enhanced performance and reliability.Ensure ongoing system compliance with security standards, coordinating regularly with stakeholders.Create, review, and maintain technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and troubleshooting manuals.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related experience; OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience; OR equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.Active Top Secret security clearance, with willingness to obtain SCI and CI Polygraph after starting. Compliance with DOD 8570 baseline certification requirements (e.g., Security+ or higher).Practical experience in Linux server administration, specifically user provisioning.Proficiency working within RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) environments.Skilled at interpreting vulnerability scans (STIG/IAVA) and implementing necessary remediations.Experience with backup and snapshot processes for virtual machines.Worked with security teams in ISCP (Information Systems Contingency Plan) exercises.Scripting abilities for systems administration, automation, and troubleshooting tasks.Familiarity with system architecture principles, software development processes, and sustainment practices.DESIRED SKILLS:Background in NGA network operations and standards.Certifications in Red Hat technologies.Additional certifications related to Linux administration.Training or certification in Agile methodologies.Experience administering collaboration platforms like Jira and Confluence.
