    How You’ll Make an Impact

    Assist in search for and review peer-reviewed scientific literature on cognitive science and human factors researchStudying and contributing to systems designConducting usability testing and human-in the-loop evaluationsSupporting data collection and analysis activitiesParticipating in user interviewsAssisting with technical documentation Apply written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with team members using email, phone, and virtual meeting technologyParticipate in a timely, productive, and collegial manner on a multidisciplinary project teamRequirements:Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance Demonstrated expertise in human factors and system usability evaluationCompleted B.A./B.S. degree in an applied mathematics discipline such as statistics, computer science, or mathematicsCurrently enrolled and completed at least one year of coursework in an accredited graduate program work toward a Master or Doctoral degree in an applied mathematics discipline, such as mathematical psychology, statistics, computer science, or physicsBackground in human factors, cognitive science, or related behavioral science disciplines, along with strong analytical and written communication skills, is preferred

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    As part of Aptima’s Training, Learning, & Readiness Division, you will be assisting on high priority projects and work within the Division. You will have the opportunity to work with a highly interdisciplinary team on a variety of tasking, including the following:

    Assist in search for and review peer-reviewed scientific literatureAssist senior researchers to perform data analysis and reporting using standard commercial tools such as Python, R, SPSS, or SASDevelop draft content for technical analyses, written reports, presentations, and papers related to applicable areas of science and technologyApply written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with team members using email, phone, and virtual meeting technologyParticipate in a timely, productive, and collegial manner on a multidisciplinary project teamRequirements:Training and/or relevant coursework in research methods and statisticsAbility to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance Completed B.A./B.S. degree in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, human factors, data science, or other related fieldsCurrently enrolled and completed at least one year of coursework in an accredited graduate program work toward a Master or Doctoral degree

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    As a Software Engineer Intern in Aptima’s Training, Learning, & Readiness Division, you’ll contribute to the development and testing of software for training and performance assessment systems. Your work may include implementing, testing, documenting, and delivering measurement, assessment, analysis, reporting, and visualization capabilities as part of a cross-disciplinary team including scientists, engineers, and subject matter experts. Your software may deploy to customer sites producing tangible advantages to the readiness of their workforce.


    Key responsibilities will include:

    Develop, test, debug, and document data-centric software integrating with established learning and training systems (e.g., flight simulators)Use standards-based programming interfaces and data specificationsCollaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate software components into larger system architecturesWrite clean, maintainable, and scalable code using Python, Java, C#, C++, or other programming languagesResearch and implement new software frameworks and tools to meet specific project needsConduct software testing and debugging to ensure system functionality and reliabilitySupport cloud deployment and automated testing workflows for enhanced project performanceRequirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or C++Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related fieldInterest in data storage, processing, and visualization with experience using one or more related commercial or open-source toolsWillingness to learn and adapt to new programming frameworks and toolsExperience with cloud deployment and distributed systemsFamiliarity with automated testing tools and techniquesExposure to machine learning or data processing workflowsAbility to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
