General Job Responsibilities:
Evaluate students through observation, therapeutic handling, record review, and interviews with parents, students, and teachers to identify physical impairments or delays
Provide coaching and advice to teachers, parents, and paraprofessionals regarding specific techniques, equipment
Develop individualized physical therapy intervention strategies and implements appropriate therapy plans to enhance motor skills, posture, movement, mobility, and the use of assistive devices
Provide direct supervision to certified physical therapy assistants in accordance with state regulations
General Job Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program
Current state licensure as a physical therapist
Knowledge of the philosophy, principles, and practices of physical therapy as it relates to school-based practice
Knowledge of specialized equipment and assistive technology
Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws related to special education
Minimum of two years of physical therapy experience, particularly in a pediatric setting - Highly Desired
Participation in continuing education related to pediatrics or school-based physical therapy

Critical Tasks:
