The Floor Lead will assist the Production Supervisor in supervising and leading the CNC and FIN Department Machining team through day-to-day activities in their assigned cell, ensuring smooth operations and efficient completion of projects. This position is a working floor lead, so you will be responsible for completing hands-on CNC Machining tasks.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Oversees work of assigned production team employees.
· Escalates employee relations issues to the Production Supervisor.
· Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new team members.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
· Works with the Production Supervisor to plan work priorities, to obtain necessary supplies, and to assess required skills to complete necessary tasks.
· Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members’ skills and experience.
· Ensures work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
· Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
· Inspects work performed by team members.
· Tracks and logs workers’ time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
· Collaborates with team to identify ways to improve effectiveness of the department; implements viable ideas.
· Act as backup to Production Supervisor.
· Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
· Comply with all API Heat Transfer policies for behavior within the workplace.
· Comply with all the ISO 9001 Quality Standards, policies, and procedures of API Heat Transfer.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
· Provide guidance, support, and job-specific training to new and existing employees.
Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· At least five years of production experience required with CNC Machining.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.
· Basic set up experience on lathes and/or Machining centers.
· Ability to read and alter programs.
· Understands basic G and M codes.
· Ability to read blueprints.
· Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and coach other employees.
