SUMMARY
The ANSYS HFSS product team is focused on developing graphical user interfaces and simulation pipelines that drive our industry-leading electrical simulation products. We are seeking a software engineer with a passion for user interface and product development. The successful candidate will perform design, development and maintenance of various desktop applications in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment. Summary / Role Purpose
Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team and partner with our customers to engineer what's ahead, solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys' business. As a hands-on expert in Ansys products, you will use advanced-level engineering knowledge to provide technical pre-sales support, perform professional services, and help translate customer requirements into exciting new product features. Key Duties and Responsibilities
Apply engineering expertise and knowledge of electromagnetics to provide exceptional technical support to customers, ensuring high-quality, timely customer service that results in improved customer satisfaction and productivity.
Take ownership of customer problems, proactively engage with selected accounts to provide comprehensive electromagnetic solutions. Contribute to all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, interact with customers to understand their product design needs and engineering design workflows and articulate Ansys' value proposition.
Provide intermediate and/or advanced training classes. Scope and deliver professional services for projects which may include collaborative work with other application engineers in the same or different disciplines.
Gather customer requirements to support the improvement of Ansys software and collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into new product capabilities. Test new releases on industrial problems.
Participates in internal corporate initiatives to share knowledge and to create best practices, both within and outside of the disciplines.
Ability to travel up to 25% of time.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
Master's degree in electrical engineering with the emphasis on high-frequency electromagnetics or other technical discipline
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering software environment
Demonstrated use of relevant ANSYS software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA software packages
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers
Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives
Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English
Logical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to the customer
Projects a professional image and strong business acumen during customer interactions
Possesses a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills
Demonstrated working knowledge and previous usage of ANSYS HFSS, ANSYS SIwave, ANSYS Q3D Extractor or other simulation software involving real world, industry level applications
Experienced with signal and power integrity simulation analysis including cross-talk analysis, transmission line impedance simulations, bathtub curves, eye diagram analysis, peak distortion analyst, TDR/TDT, power delivery networks and power plane decoupling analysis
Good knowledge of circuit level and timing analysis of most common signal integrity applications and compliance standards
Knowledgeable with package, printed circuit boards and connector design processes and EDA Tools
Fundamental knowledge of high frequency, microwave and antenna concepts including S-parameters, wave propagation, antenna radiation patterns and scattering analysis
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering environment: MS+6 or PhD+3.
5 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software.
Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and translate these into an execution plan that delivers value and meets business goals.
Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives.
