PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Responsible for assisting with the production process in the machining department. Inventory and stocking of the tool crib. Breaking down and setting up tooling for the machining centers. Moves carts and dollies with items on them. Assists in cleanup.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Create and maintain tooling lists for actively used machine programs. Set up necessary tooling for machinists prior to machining operations.Tear down, inspect, and place used tooling in the appropriate locations.Stock good quality tooling back into the replenishment system.Perform inventory checks on replenishable tooling on a routine basis.Maintain a clean, organized, and functional tool room and storage system in accordance with proper 5S practices.Implement and maintain 5S projects in the tool room and machine shop.Work with programmers and Shift Supervisor to troubleshoot tooling issues and provide technical support to machinists as needed.Work with programmers and tool room coordinator to test potential tooling upgrades and new technology.Observe safe work practices.Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Good housekeeping practices.Knowledge of, or the desire to learn the machine shop environment and tooling needs.Basic experience with Microsoft Xcel, Word, and OutlookOther duties as assigned.Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:
