ABOUT THE ROLE
PURPOSE All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed, and individual works as a team member. The primary responsibilities of this position are: keeping all plant production and service equipment in reliable operating condition and maintenance of equipment on the Plant.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areasPractice and promote safety in such way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE.Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowermentPerforms maintenance work on plant production and service equipmentMaintains tools used within departmentResponsible for repair and elimination of product spillageOperates equipment such as a forklift, skid loader, and teleforkerOperates heavy equipment such as chainfalls and comealongsMust be able to work overtime as necessaryMust be able to work independently as well as in teamsPerforms electric arc weldingUnderstand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS policies to assure that environmental, health, and safety are the first priority of the business. Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department as needed to improve EHS performance and resultsPerforms maintenance duties in accordance with safety proceduresPerforms maintenance duties following standard work instructions to ensure proper utilizationDemonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Required Education: High School diploma/GED
Required Work Experience: 3-5 years as mechanical or maintenance technician
Licenses Preferred: Valid Driver's License Required
Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic knowledge about computers, Microsoft Office and SAP
Additional Requirements:
Prior cement plant experience or the equivalent to be familiar with all processes, locations and functionsMust pass Bennett Comprehension TestKnowledge of mechanic, replace defective parts of a machine, adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.Experience on Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, etc.Understand, read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to construction and able to draw mechanic parts to be built.Must take Ferris State Evaluation Test and agree to a program of further education to strengthen weaknesses detected in the evaluationWillingness to engage in a program of formal training to progress to journeyman statusKnowledgeable in the Plant safety procedures and regulationsMust be proficient in the safe usage of the basic tools of the positionWhile performing the duties of this job the employee must be able toTravel through a cement plant, i.e., walk over obstacles, climb stairs and ladders, lift heavy or awkward parts, wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, fall protection, respirators, etc.), work in outside weather conditions with exposure to extreme cold and heat.Ability to carry out Welding, Oxy Cutting, fabrication, and basic machining jobs.Able to perform lifting & rigging activitiesAbility to communicate effectively with all levelsAbility to carry out corrective maintenance in the following equipment: Bucket Elevator maintenance Belt Conveyor maintenance Hopper/Chute/Casing maintenance Crusher maintenance Stacker maintenance Reclaimer maintenance General Gearbox maintenance Blower, Compressor & Dryer maintenance Bag filter maintenance Air slide maintenance Apron Feeder maintenance Fan maintenance Chain Conveyor maintenance Screw Conveyor maintenance Lubrication equipment and hydraulic system Tool application Valves & fittings Bearing removal & installation Pump maintenance Air Blaster maintenanceSuccessful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
