RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Mechanical Engineer on the HSIO Products team you willsupport to the design, development and selection of basic hardware components utilizing fundamental mechanical engineering principles, theories and techniques. Assigned duties may include:
Design and development of specific elements of High-Speed IO Interconnect and Cable devices or components to meet specified design requirements. May receive direction from senior engineering staff and may be responsible to provide direction to drafting.Perform Mechanical Analyses- Obtain working knowledge of company standard analysis tools. Perform basic static, dynamic and heat transfer analyses of mechanical structures, when required. Compile data for investigation by senior mechanical engineering personnel. Participate in design reviews.Support Verification/Validation of Design- Support the fabrication and environmental testing of High-Speed IO Interconnect devices. Assist in the design and fabrication of prototype hardware. Support the environmental testing of hardware including vibration, shock, thermal, fatigue and others as required. Document results for review by senior engineering personnel.Prepare Documentation- Generate and review the technical content of drawings, engineering specifications, reports and other documentation associated with the mechanical design. Generate and present design review packages for internal and external audiences.Support Continuous Improvement- Conduct failure analysis of product returned from field and qualification failures. Lead customization efforts on assigned product lines when required.Lead sustainment efforts on assigned product lines- Provide Mechanical Engineering support to products in production. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop mechanical designs supporting new product development and customer requirements.Focus on mechanical system design related to electromechanical components in industrial applications.Evaluate manufacturing technologies and mechanical structures for industrial automation products.Deliver detailed mechanical designs and engineering documentation to internal teams and customers.Prepare samples and coordinate reliability testing and mechanical evaluation.Support production line setup, troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical issues during manufacturing.Work closely with cross functional teams including electrical engineering, project management and manufacturing.QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Experience in mechanical design in electromechanical components preferred.Experience with mechanical components used in industrial automation.Proficiency with 3D and 2D design tools such as Pro/E, CATIA or AutoCAD.Strong communication and problem solving skills.Amphenol Corporation is proud of our reputation as an excellent employer.
