    Manufacturing Equipment Operator, 1st Shift

    Extrusion

    Location: Concord, NC
    Schedule: Monday–Friday 7am to 3pm
    Starting Pay: $18.00/hour and up (based on experience)

We are actively hiring Extrusion Operators to join our Concord, NC manufacturing team.

    Position Summary

    The Extrusion Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion equipment used in the production of color compounds. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

    Key Responsibilities

    Maintain the highest standards of safety by following all safety procedures and actively participating in safety programs

    Operate extrusion and related production equipment, including extruders, feeders, pelletizers, scales, dies, and classifiers

    Produce compound samples according to customer and production specifications

    Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance

    Add color mix to feeders using a tow motor/forklift to position color pots correctly

    Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot mechanical issues as needed

    Required Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent

    1–2 years of manufacturing or production experience strongly preferred

    Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting capability

    Forklift/tow motor experience preferred

    Solid math and analytical skills

    Dependable, reliable, and self-motivated work ethic

    We are actively hiring Extrusion Operators to join our team at our Liberty, NC plant. Americhem is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of custom color concentrates. Our production operators specialize in setting up, operating, and tending extruding machines to process a variety of products that our customers use to manufacture a vast array of finished products.

    Pay: Starting at $17.00 with a $1.75 shift diff, but will pay more for experience

    Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00pm to 11:00pm)

    Extrusion Operator Requirements/ Preferred Qualifications

    Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Experience: 1-2 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing/production strongly preferred.

    Extrusion Operator Knowledge and Skills:

    · Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot.

    · Tow motor/forklift experience.

    · Dependable, reliable, and self-motivated.

    · Solid math and analytic skills.

    Extrusion Operator Essential Duties:

    · Holds safety in highest regard by making good safety decisions, following safety procedures, watching out for the safety of self and others, contributing to safety improvements and participating in safety programs.

    · Produce compound samples according to specifications by using production equipment, devices and instruments (extruders, scales, feeders, classifiers, pelletizers, dies, visual display units, dials, and calibrators).

    · Keeps machinery and mechanical equipment operational by performing preventative maintenance tasks on machine and equipment.

    · The Operator adds color mix to the feeder by using a tow motor/forklift to lift the color pot up to the platform, and setting it in the proper slot.
