American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist - NICU with at least 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience for a 13-week day shift contract at a hospital working with both NICU and adult patient populations.
Job Details• Work setting is a hospital-based respiratory therapy unit serving both NICU and adult patient populations,
• NICU unit has 36 beds with typically 18-20 patients,
• NICU patient care includes ground transports, Nitric Oxide administration, and transport responsibilities,
• Adult patient care includes general and critical care cases,
• EMR: Cerner (experience required); Omnicell medication dispensing,
• Equipment includes Spacelabs monitors, PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, and Airvo ventilators, and 3100A oscillator,
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; night shift availability also exists (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM),
• 36 hours per week,
• Weekend rotation every other weekend,
• Voluntary call available,
• NICU therapists float to adult units as needed,
• One major and one minor seasonal holiday required per policy,
Job Requirements• RRT preferred; CRT considered with a minimum of 2 years of experience,
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level 3 NICU required,
• Candidates with only 1 year of experience will not be considered,
• BLS and NRP required; ACLS and APLS preferred,
• Cerner or Epic EMR experience required,
• Must be able to work independently in a Level 3 NICU, including as the sole NICU RRT on a shift,
• Ground transport and Nitric Oxide administration experience preferred,
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible,
• License required if applicable,
• One reference from a charge nurse or above from the past 12 months required for consideration,
• DOB (day and month) required for consideration,
Additional Information• First-time travelers are considered with at least 2 years of experience and Cerner or Epic EMR experience,
• Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler,
• Orientation for new or returning travelers (absent 1+ years) includes 24 hours of classroom training and 24 hours on the unit; orientation for recent rehires is evaluated on a case-by-case basis,
• An interview is required prior to any offer being extended,
