American Surveying is an established Florida land surveying and mapping company serving commercial and residential clients throughout the state. Our projects include boundary, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, topographic, and construction surveys, with most of our work concentrated in Central Florida.
We are seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead a professional field crew who takes pride in producing accurate work, communicates effectively with clients and office staff, and enjoys leading a field crew. Responsibilities
Lead a field survey crew while maintaining a safe and productive work environmentCoordinate daily field activities with the office as neededEnsure field work is completed accurately, efficiently, and safelyPerform commercial and residential boundary surveysComplete ALTA/NSPS Land Title SurveysPerform topographic surveysPerform limited construction staking and layoutPerform elevation certificate surveysUnderstand plats, deeds, metes and bounds descriptions, and section breakdownsCommunicate effectively with office staff regarding project progressCollect complete, accurate, and organized electronic field data for office processingMaintain company vehicles and surveying equipment in safe, reliable working conditionQualifications
Required
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or equivalent field leadership experienceExperience operating GNSS receivers, total stations, automatic or digital levels, and electronic data collectorsAbility to read plats, deeds, and legal descriptionsWorking knowledge of boundary surveying principles and field proceduresValid Florida driver’s license with an insurable driving recordAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionWillingness to work overtime when neededAbility to travel for occasional overnight projects throughout FloridaPreferred
Experience with ALTA/NSPS Land Title SurveysExperience with commercial surveying projectsConstruction staking experienceNSPS Certified Survey Technician (CST) certification is a plusCandidates who are not currently certified but are interested in pursuing CST certification are encouraged to applyPhysical Requirements
