    Summary: Overview The Real Estate and Capital Projects (RECAP) team is looking for a subject matter expert in real estate planning to help us improve and grow our programs into new locations across the nation. This work enables the ASPCA to support more animals, pet owners, and communities than ever before. The Real Estate and Capital Projects team is dedicated to planning, building, and renovating functional spaces to ensure our staff can carry out the ASPCA's life-saving work. Who We Are The Real Estate & Capital Projects team build infrastructure and foundation to serve the organizational needs. RECAP partners with other departments to improve and/or create new spaces to support the organization's mission and work. RECAP also strategizes portfolio planning and manages leases and plan for future demands. What You'll Do The Project manager, Real Estate & Capital Projects will assume responsibility for overall construction of projects assigned. A successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with internal and external support teams. The person in this role will provide project management support for assigned projects across a portfolio including all aspects from inception to completion. Our ideal candidate possesses an understanding of the space design process, develops programming data, and implements into viable schematic designs. The role, Capital Projects will assist with implementation and management of designs through use of professional services (architectural, engineering, general contractors, Furniture, Fixtures, &Equipment specialists) and will support the Director and Vice President, Real Estate and Capital Projects on all projects as needed. Our selected candidate will be expected to perform all duties in full support of ASPCA brand, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties is instrumental to the ASPCA's core business - the protection and welfare of animals. * Project Manager, Real Estate & Capital Projects reports directly to the Vice President, Real Estate & Capital Projects and has no direct reports. Where and When You'll Work * This is a hybrid position and will require occasional commuting to New York area ASPCA locations along with travel to ASPCA locations in other states. * Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% annually, as needed. What You'll Get Compensation Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, remote roles location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. Responsibilities: Responsibilities Responsibility buckets are listed in general order of importance. They include, but are not limited to: Project Management * Assist with management of projects across portfolio. * Partner with ASPCA personnel to develop project program. * Assist research to identify potential real estate opportunities. * Partner with architects and engineers to develop plans, specifications, schedules, budgets, etc. for various assigned projects. * Partner with internal support teams (IT, Legal, Facilities, etc.) to develop a holistic approach to project completion. * Oversee performance of contractors and ensure adherence to plans/specifications. * Develop RFP's for solicitation of proposals for professional services and general contractors. * Assist all vended suppliers on assigned projects. * Assist with management and guide vended teams from inception through completion on assigned projects. * Assist Director/VP with the day-to-day construction operations and projects. * Manage close-out process with various ASPCA teams and outside services. * Work with financed team to review requisitions and process payments. * Develop and maintain project schedules; weekly and monthly as needed. * Assist with development of project budgets. * Track project tasks and project completions for RECAP, provide progress reporting on assigned projects. * Assist and perform misc. tasks related to the RECAP department. Space Management/Design Development * Develop, maintain, and oversee an inventory of ASPCA building and space data using space management software and other methods as appropriate. * Oversee the planning of projects involving space use changes. * Assist in the management, planning and coordination of appropriate space change initiatives and projects across portfolio. * Analyze impact of new construction and renovation on space planning. * Provide move management for occupants affected by new construction, renovation, or space use changes. * Organize and oversee all building and site data including plans, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.     Summary: If you are passionate about delivering high-quality care for animals who have been victims of cruelty and neglect, and you thrive in a fast-paced, team environment, the position of Integrated Care Assistant (ICA) at the Animal Recovery Center may be for you. The Animal Recovery Center recovers and rehabilitates animals admitted through NYPD and ASPCA's Humane Law Enforcement (HLE) and Community Engagement (CE) programs. This facility is dedicated to recovering and rehabilitating dogs and cats who have suffered physical and emotional trauma and delivers medical and behavioral interventions to prepare them for adoption or return to the owner when appropriate. AICAs support the behavioral and medical recovery and rehabilitation of animals in the ARC by providing medical treatments and behavioral enrichment and interventions, including during all animal care activities. AICAs interact with animals during their recovery to detect potential problems or changes in their medical or behavioral progress and communicate those effectively to clinical professionals, administer medications, provide daily care, engage in behavioral enrichment activities, and document/maintain records of all activities. One of the most critical functions of this role is serving as a member of a team of medical, behavior and sheltering personnel, all dedicated to working together to provide holistic care for all our animals. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Behavior 40%: * Engage in behavioral and enrichment activities, following enrichment program protocols. Recommend animal-specific changes to regimen, including frequency, duration, or type. * Assist in behavioral health evaluations, assessments, trainings, and other animal interventions. * Exercise and socialize animals and manage playgroups, under the direction and guidance of the ARC and CARE Behavior team. Abide by existing dog-walking programs and observe and report reactions with environmental events or human/animal interactions, and/or problems/changes in urination or defecation. Encourage healthy behaviors and interactions throughout, and reward animals appropriately. * Feed animals, provide clean water, and ensure a clean environment while interacting with animals to encourage and promote healthy behaviors, and detecting, logging, and reporting to the medical and behavior teams any irregularities or changes in animal nutrition, hydration, or behaviors (including responses to your interactions). Observing animals during these interactions is vital to the recognizing medical and behavioral changes/abnormalities early, maximizing the efficacy of potential treatments. * Monitor the comfort of shelter animals, looking for any signs of distress, anxiety, or physical ailments, and ensure that their physical environment is not resulting in discomfort (e.g., appropriate bedding (clean and fold laundry), space, adverse neighboring animals, including by maintaining the cleanliness of both animal enclosures and other workspaces that facilitate the arrival of new animals. * Always provide safe and smooth fear free handling of animals. * Monitor animal holding areas for appropriate music and/or auditory stimulation and report observations. Medical 40%: * Ensure the welfare of animals in our care by attending to their physical and emotional health and comfort, following all ASPCA protocols. * Read and follow all kennel signage and treatment sheets regarding animal treatment and care. * Under the guidance of the ARC medical team, administer medication and medical treatments in a low stress manner, following all medication administration protocols. * Recognize potential medical issues and communicate effectively with medical teams so that they can quickly and effectively attend to animals.
