Position Summary
American Jewish University (AJU) seeks a highly organized, proactive, and donor-centric Director of Advancement Events & Foundation Relations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of fundraising and engagement events, as well as foundation grant writing, proposals and reporting that advance AJU's mission and philanthropic goals. This role will work closely with the Vice President for Advancement and collaborate with colleagues to strengthen donor and alumni relationships and support key fundraising initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Event Planning & Management
Manage event execution from planning through post-event follow-up and stewardship.Directly oversee all aspects and logistics of fundraising events, donor gatherings, and cultivation activities including venue coordination/management, registration process, timelines, and attendee communications.Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of services and adherence to agreements.Develop, monitor and stay within event budgets.Process and track invoices, contracts, and payments.Maintain accurate records and documentation.Foundation Grants Management
Write and submit grant proposals and reports to foundations and institutional funders.Collaborate with academic, programmatic and finance staff to gather information required for grant reports and proposals.Maintain reporting calendars and ensure timely compliance with grant requirements.Serve as a liaison with foundation representatives regarding reporting, documentation, and stewardship needs.Work in conjunction with grant writing consultant on more complex grant applications.Track grant fulfillment and follow-up with foundation as well as internal colleagues.Foundation and grant opportunities research.Other Key Duties
Partner closely with the Vice President for Advancement on strategic initiatives and special projects as needed.Qualifications & Desired Attributes
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.5–7 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising.Expertise in coordinating and overseeing fundraising and donor engagement events.Strong project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing effective proposals.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and donor database/CRM systems.Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with donors, volunteers, community leaders, and colleagues.Resourceful, collaborative, and solutions-oriented.Flexibility to support evolving organizational priorities.Knowledge of and experience working within the Jewish community, Jewish nonprofit sector, or Jewish philanthropic landscape strongly preferred.Compensation

Position Overview
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting operations and maintaining the integrity of financial data, reporting, and compliance functions. This role partners closely with leadership to ensure financial processes are accurate, efficient, and aligned with organizational objectives.
The position provides leadership across multiple accounting functions, including general ledger activity, payables, receivables, financial analysis support, and operational accounting processes. The Accounting Manager is expected to create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and responsiveness while ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently met.
This role requires a hands-on leader, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage both people and processes. Success in this position depends not only on technical expertise, but also on the ability to build positive working relationships across departments, communicate professionally under pressure, and lead teams through change and process improvement initiatives.

Position Summary AJU’s Masor School for Jewish Education and Leadership invites applications for part-time lecturers who will be teaching and supporting our two online doctoral degree programs. Both programs are structured as 3-year, 8-semesters-long (3 fall, 3 spring, 2, summer), cohort-based formats, designed for working professionals, blending asynchronous distance learning with high-touch, community-building components.
The Adjunct Lecturers will conduct weekly synchronous online classes, facilitates learning via active student discussions, answers student questions regarding course content and processes, responds to discussion board posts and remains current in subject-matter trends as well as the content covered in the course. Adjunct Lecturers may also be invited to serve in the capacity of Doctoral Committee Chair or Committee Member for a duration of two years. Graduates are equipped to transform the institutions that support Jewish children and families, elevating both practice and impact across the field.
Ed.D. in Jewish Education & Communal Leadership – Meets synchronously Mondays from 4:30-6:30PM PDT
A practice-driven EdD for experienced leaders in Jewish education and communal life. The EdD in Jewish Education and Communal Leadership integrates applied research with strategic leadership development, preparing professionals to address real organizational challenges and lead systemic change. Students learn within a diverse cohort of senior leaders across educational, nonprofit, and public sectors, focused on reimagining institutions and strengthening Jewish communal life.
Minimum Requirements:
• Terminal degree (EdD or PhD) required. Degree specialization or experience in educational leadership, early childhood education, PK-12, or a closely related field is strongly preferred.
• Experience serving on doctoral dissertation committees is highly desired.
• Experience teaching in an online educational environment, experience with Canvas LMS preferred.
• Ability to take initiative and self-manage.
• Proficiency with Word and PowerPoint.
• Learn new technologies/programs quickly (e.g., LMS/Canvas)
Other Requirements:
• A device with wired/high-speed internet connection sufficient to effectively conduct online activities.
