The Campus Assistant Director of Nursing, Clinical Operations is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all clinical-related activities within the nursing program. This includes managing clinical instructors, cultivating and maintaining clinical partnerships, securing and scheduling clinical placements, overseeing clinical observations, required documentation and reporting, and ensuring compliance with college and accreditation standards. The role supports clinical faculty in meeting course objectives and ensures that students successfully complete clinical assignments while maintaining the integrity and quality of the clinical education experience.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Coordinate clinical placements, field experiences, and scheduling to align with course objectives, accreditation, and timely student progression. Conduct clinical site visits, student/faculty observations, and direct skill assessments in alignment with accreditation and institutional policies. Build and sustain relationships with clinical partners and manage contracts to secure and maintain high-quality clinical placements. Oversee administrative processes related to clinical documentation, including attendance, student scheduling, onboarding, immunization, and background checks. Supervise clinical faculty, including onboarding, mentoring, scheduling, performance evaluation, and ongoing professional development. Lead recruitment, retention, and compliance of clinical staff, ensuring timely completion of all employment and accreditation requirements. Foster student success and retention through academic counseling and access to support resources. Monitor and enforce timely faculty responsibilities such as attendance records, grading, and administration of course evaluations. Address and resolve clinical faculty and student concerns related to clinical performance, conduct, or instructional issues, including implementation of improvement plans. Maintain accurate documentation, including syllabi, clinical contracts, student records, accreditation files, and meeting minutes. Ensure program compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and institutional policies in coordination with other campus programs. Support achievement of NCLEX licensure exam pass rate goals by overseeing clinical education quality and student performance. Evaluate and enhance the quality, consistency, and development of clinical courses, curriculum, and program offerings. Collaborate with the Campus Associate Director of Nursing, Academics, and other leadership to ensure instructional alignment across settings. Assumes Campus Director/Dean of Nursing role and responsibilities in his/her absence according to accrediting regulations. May step in to teach based on the needs of the department. May perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
Hold a current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas; Show evidence of teaching abilities and maintaining current knowledge, clinical expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility; Hold a master’s degree or doctoral degree, preferably in nursing; A nurse faculty member holding a master’s degree or doctoral degree in a discipline other than nursing shall hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an approved or accredited baccalaureate program in nursing; and if teaching in a diploma or associate degree program, shall have at least six (6) graduate semester hours in nursing appropriate to assigned teaching responsibilities.
Experience & Skills
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse; one (1) year shall be in teaching or clinical supervision, or a combination thereof, in a state approved registered nursing, vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five (5) years; or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in nursing administration or nursing education within the last five (5) years. Leadership knowledge in the program field to cultivate a learner-centered environment and to foster excellence. Knowledge in technological support and delivery of program area and services. Knowledge and evidence of strong supervisory and management skills as applicable to specialized program area. Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance and other regulatory standards such as Title IV, ABHES, BVNPT, BPPE, and other accreditation standards. Knowledge of applicable databases and computer application systems to supply the most accurate information, reports and projections. Experience with MS Office.

You will make an impact by:
Overseeing and coordinating all clinical-related activities within the nursing programManaging clinical instructors, cultivating and maintaining clinical partnerships, securing and scheduling clinical placements, overseeing clinical observations, required documentation and reporting, and ensuring compliance with college and accreditation standardsSupporting clinical faculty in meeting course objectives and ensures that students successfully complete clinical assignments while maintaining the integrity and quality of the clinical education experienceYour Experience Includes:
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse; one (1) year shall be in teaching or clinical supervision, or a combination thereof, in a state approved registered nursing, vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five (5) years; or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in nursing administration or nursing education within the last five (5) years.Leadership knowledge in the program field to cultivate a learner-centered environment and to foster excellence.Knowledge in technological support and delivery of program area and services.Knowledge and evidence of strong supervisory and management skills as applicable to specialized program area.Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance and other regulatory standards such as Title IV, ABHES, BVNPT, BPPE, and other accreditation standards.
Education/Licensure:
Hold a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing or a related field from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the US Secretary of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).Must have completed a course or courses offered by an accredited school with instruction in administration, teaching, and curriculum development.Current unencumbered California Registered Nurse (RN) License is required.Must have approval by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) prior to assuming the role of Assistant Director of Nursing.Must possess a Certificate of Completion of a course in teaching methodology of at least 30 hours.Current CPR Card.#HEJ #LI-MJ1
