ResponsibilitiesLead the manufacturing engineering team activities for new product development launch, production volumes increase, implement performance, cost, quality, and consistency improvements in products and processes during and after the design phase.Manage team responsible for the manufacturing evaluation of new product concepts (DFA), creation of manufacturing plans, and estimations of production costs for the facility.Develop future capability for facilities, equipment, and workforce to ensure capacity meets business needs.Champions lean manufacturing activities and continuous improvement projects such as cost reduction and efficiency improvement.Determine Capital Expenditures (Cap-EX) and value adds for new projects, scenario planning, and acquisition projects; managing budget, compliance, and ensuring manufacturing operations run to plan.Responsible for Equipment & Tooling Readiness/Documentation and all safety standards.Manage plant engineering expenditures, labor costs, and departmental budgets to meet manufacturing engineering objectives.Responsible for maintaining and improving all factory processes and related metrics.Lead new product and process introduction.Address customer issues related to or resulting from the manufacturing process.Develop managers and engineers to improve their abilities and skills.Adhere to federal and state regulations.Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.Predictable and reliable attendance.Position QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of fifteen (15) years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing facility.Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience.Working experience with Quality & Reliability disciplines (FMEA, DFA, DFM, DVP&R, Six-Sigma, APQP, 8D).Working knowledge of PLC, HMI’s, relays, contactors, servos, steppers, low voltage circuits, high voltage circuits, torque drivers, bar code systems, database storage, and vision systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Bosch Rexroth, OpCon, Cognex).Experience with quality management systems.Knowledge and experience with TS 16949 and ISO 14001.Ability to manage change and priorities and coordinate/realign project resources as necessary.Thorough knowledge of Theory of Constraints with demonstrated implementation.Strong technical and communication skills.Working knowledge of machine electrical cabinet layout and machine controls.Computer skills including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD.

Lead investigations and problem solving for near misses and accidents. Responsibilities:Operate as the technical lead for Electrical Systems Engineering.Serve as a technical expert within the organization on electrical engineering of the battery systems and drive the processes and tools needed for it.Develop electrical system architecture and schematics.Derive sub-system electrical requirements and allocate to electrical architecture.Develop external interface specifications for the electrical interfaces to other systems.Lead cross-functional electrical system engineering meetings with other engineers.Drive resolutions in the electrical systems, between customers and design engineersSupport the Lead Systems Engineer with electrical engineering related topics.Support the DREs with their design reviews of the electrical components.Analyze failure modes of electrical systems in the DFMEA; support functional safety analysis.Track and prioritize top technical risks and known electrical system issues.Develop electrical sub-system integration test plan and drive prototype testing and analysis.Develop electrical inspection requirements for end of line testing.Drive model-based analysis of the electrical battery system with CAD and CAE teamsHelp troubleshoot battery pack issues and support development of engineering guidelines.Actively review and help refine VAVE activities to meet electrical systems requirements. Support analysis of hardware, controls, communications, and worst-case circuit analysis.Adhere to federal and state regulations.Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Predictable and reliable attendance. Position Qualifications:Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and/or equivalent degree required. Education in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred.Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in automotive or similar electrical systems; HV Battery systems, LV Battery systems, Battery Management Systems (BMS), Battery Disconnect Units (BDU), Power Distribution Units (PDU), wiring, controls, CAN, connectors, relays, contactors, fuses, and busbars. Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM/DFA, DVP&R, and product design life cycle process.Hands-on lab/shop skills (multimeters, oscilloscopes, HiPot isolation testers, LCR meters, CANalyzer/CANoe, DAQs, ect.).Ability to work hands-on with High and Low Voltage Power and Communication systems.Preferred experience in a requirement engineering management tool and systems engineering (e.g. Jama, DOORS) and MBSE modeling architectures.Preferred experience with MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape controls and simulations.Preferred experience with CAD/CAE and 3D electrical design tools.Familiar with common automotive & industry standards.Adept in basic data processing and statistical analysis.Presents strong interpersonal communication, listening, and technical writing skills.Preferred experience with the handling of high voltage lithium-ion battery systems. Job SummaryThe Battery Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and execution of core battery electrical system components and assemblies. They are responsible for defining, documenting, designing, and releasing critical electrical systems and interfaces within the battery pack, including cell interconnections, sensing circuitry, and high voltage/high current interfaces and overseeing validation of those components and assemblies.
