About Alternative Wellness Services (AWS) At Alternative Wellness Services (AWS), exceptional client care begins with how we support the people providing it. We are a dynamic, forward-thinking agency that values innovation, teamwork, and the meaningful contributions of every employee. We work hard, but we know how to have fun! AWS offers multiple opportunities for team development, including engaging all-agency gatherings that keep our staff connected and inspired.
We foster a workplace culture rooted in collaboration, accountability, and recovery-oriented care. Because we are deeply committed to the well-being of our team, we offer a 100% employer-paid Health Insurance Plan for the employee, free life insurance, short term disability, long-term disability and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, and generous PTO—with opportunities to earn more throughout the year by engaging in fun contests or exceeding expectations.
We believe that caring for our staff means providing strong external resources for personal support, allowing our internal leadership to maintain a healthy, professional, and structured environment. We fiercely protect your work-life balance: we want our team highly focused during core business hours so that when you clock out, you can completely disconnect and focus on what matters most in your personal life.
Position Summary: Clinical Coordinator (On-site with occasional flexibility)
Reporting directly to the Practice Manager, the Clinical Coordinator is a vital connector and clinical leader bridging our Outpatient Therapy (OPT) and Behavioral Health Home (BHH) programs. This role is designed to be highly focused and manageable: you will oversee two OPT Clinical Supervisors (who lead small teams) and provide targeted clinical guidance for the BHH program. Because the day-to-day operations of BHH are handled by a dedicated Program Administrator, your role within BHH is strictly clinical—partnering collaboratively to provide group clinical supervision and documentation oversight without the burden of daily operational management. As you work alongside the leadership team to explore program expansion, the vision is to scale the BHH program to eventually add a dedicated Clinical Supervisor to your reporting structure.
This leadership role is ideal for a clinician passionate about systems-building, mentorship, and clinical quality. Because our core work is rooted in community-based mental health, you must be highly comfortable guiding staff as they support clients across a broad spectrum of clinical acuity and complex needs. You will deftly balance operational requirements with clinical needs, bringing a solutions-oriented, creative mindset to program expansion and community partnerships.
We are looking for a leader who is "clear and kind"—someone who leads by example and can hold teams accountable to program structures and service delivery. At AWS, we recognize that true leadership isn’t about being the absolute expert in every room; it is about having the humility and wisdom to access expertise when needed. We are looking for a leader who listens deeply, reflects thoughtfully, and embraces continuous learning. Additionally, as AWS actively expands our clinical training program through university internship agreements, a genuine love for teaching and guiding emerging professionals is essential.
Crucially, you will model exceptional professionalism. You will serve as an objective, supportive mentor for your team—advancing their clinical growth while maintaining the strong leadership boundaries necessary to foster a safe, respectful, and highly effective workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Supervision: Provide dynamic group and as needed individual clinical supervision for the BHH program, and step in to support the Outpatient program when current supervisors are at capacity.Mentorship & Growth: Support employee development through active coaching, onboarding, and ongoing clinical education for clinicians, care coordinators, nurse consultants, and peer support staff.Clinical Oversight: Review, approve, and monitor clinical documentation to ensure absolute quality, accuracy, and compliance with ethical standards.Clinical Guidance: Partner with the Clinical Supervisors or BHH Program Administrator to guide staff through provisional diagnoses, complex clinical decision-making, and person-centered treatment planning.Crisis & Escalation Support: Act as a steady, objective anchor during urgent clinical consultations, drawing on your comfort with high-acuity community mental health to manage escalated client complaints and service concerns when other resources have been exhausted.Best Practices: Spearhead trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and co-occurring disorder treatment practices across all departments.Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with program leadership on quality improvement initiatives, program development, and interdisciplinary communication.Community Connection: Build and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with community providers and referral sources.Administrative Excellence: Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation and supervision records.Schedule & Work Environment

Read LessChoosing between the freedom of private practice and the stability of an agency is one of the most significant decisions you will make in your clinical career. Traditionally, this choice has forced therapists to compromise: sacrifice autonomy for health insurance and a steady paycheck, or sacrifice work-life balance to manage the heavy overhead and marketing of a solo business.
At Alternative Wellness Services (AWS), we believe you shouldn’t have to compromise. Building a thriving practice today is about having the freedom to work on your terms while accessing top-tier wellness technologies that enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of your therapeutic interventions. We have built a therapeutic environment that serves as a true game-changer in the mental health field.
We offer the complete, independent autonomy of a private practice, fully backed by the stability, resources, and cutting-edge somatic technologies of a forward-thinking clinic. You will not find this combination of clinical freedom and holistic, cellular-level healing infrastructure in any other office.A Game Changer in Clinical Care: Integrating Tradition with InnovationWe aren't just changing how clinicians work; we are revolutionizing how clients heal. We believe that combining traditional talk therapy with alternative, somatic modalities helps clients achieve faster, more sustainable results without having to depend solely on psychotropics.
At our new Biddeford Wellness Center, clinicians have the unique opportunity to seamlessly integrate advanced wellness technologies into their clients' care plans.
Our 360-Degree Trifecta Pro Wellness Chamber (red light bed) offers a highly efficient 12-minute intervention. Mentally, these sessions improve mood, enhance sleep quality, sharpen cognitive function, and help reduce symptoms of depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder. Physically, the red light promotes cellular repair, reduces systemic inflammation, and supports pain management, muscle recovery, and skin health.
For targeted neuro-support, clinicians can utilize the Alpha-Stim, which employs cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) to safely and effectively treat anxiety, insomnia, and depression, while simultaneously acting as a highly effective tool for acute, chronic, and post-traumatic pain management. We also offer BrainTap, a system that uses audio and light frequencies for brainwave entrainment. This technology gently guides clients into deep meditative states, empowering them to relieve stress, improve focus, and finally break deeply ingrained negative thought loops.
To build profound resilience, our Cold Plunges trigger a massive release of endorphins, dopamine, and norepinephrine. This dramatically boosts mood and reduces anxiety. For clients in early recovery for substance use disorders, this provides a uniquely safe and healthy way to replace the dopamine they are missing. Physically, the plunge drastically reduces systemic inflammation, accelerates muscle recovery, and improves circulation. Conversely, our Infrared Saunas provide a therapeutic heat experience that facilitates deep mental relaxation, lowers cortisol levels, and promotes restorative sleep. On a physical level, the saunas encourage cellular detoxification through deep sweating, improve cardiovascular health, and relieve joint stiffness.

You can focus 100% of your energy on clinical care without ever worrying about marketing yourself or sourcing clients. We also handle the administrative heavy lifting, including the intake process and all billing.Flexible Commitments: To help cover the real costs of business overhead and clinic infrastructure, our basic commitment is just 6 hours per week (if you do not require health insurance). If you choose to opt into our comprehensive health insurance plan, we require a 20-hour billable commitment per week.Dedicated Clinical Supervision: As a practice committed to your professional growth, we provide free access to both group and individual supervision.
