  Company Description Established in 1974, Shenandoah Veterinary Hospital has been happily serving the needs of our community's pets for over 35 years. Our practice was founded by Dr. K.W. Gilpin and currently led by Dr. Darin Gilpin, Dr. Brian Gilpin, and Dr. Tori Shamblin Lefevers. Our team of veterinary professionals has grown over the years and currently includes seven veterinarians, seven registered veterinary technicians and many other experienced teammates to provide the best quality care for our patients. Each staff member contributes knowledge and experience in a variety of companion animal topics. We have team members who are experienced supporting all aspects of patient care from highly technical surgical procedures to training and behavioral problems in pets of all ages. We offer preventative care, diagnostic, soft-tissue surgeries, laser therapy, dentistry, in house pharmacy, and more! Shenandoah Veterinary Hospital is a family run business with long-term ties and dedication to the community. We're seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated urgent care team and be the welcoming face that supports both pets and their people during critical moments. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Maintain hospital reception area and greet clients and patients Answer calls, emails, and triage client concerns Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency Check in/out clients and process payments Provide compassionate support to clients Handle various medical outcomes professionally Maintain a clean and safe work environment Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities Note: This position may involve exposure to unpleasant odors, noises, and potential animal-related hazards. Qualifications We're looking for: Experienced Receptionist with a minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator Highly organized and possess computer skills Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset. Our Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) are the heart of that mission the first smile, the first reassuring voice, and the steady hand helping families through stressful moments. Imagine that it's a busy evening, and a family rushes in with their dog who suddenly became ill. You meet them at the door, calm their nerves, and help them check in quickly. While our medical team begins care, you keep the family updated, answer their questions, and reassure them that their pet is in good hands. By the end of the night, you've not only helped save a life, but you've made a frightening experience a little easier for someone who loves their pet dearly. As a customer service representative at Urgent Pet Care, you'll be more than "front desk". You'll be a guide, a comfort, and an advocate for pets and their people! Our CSRs offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients and must be comfortable with various medical outcomes.
