Job Title: Design Engineer

Salary Range: $60,000–$80,000/year

Overview:
Our client, a leading provider in the Power Generation industry, is seeking a skilled Design Engineer to support the development, improvement, and customization of mechanical and electrical systems used in power generation equipment. The ideal candidate has strong technical design capabilities, practical engineering knowledge, and the ability to translate project requirements into high-quality engineering solutions. This position is a great growth opportunity. This candidate would spend time learning from a seasoned Engineer to eventually become a lead engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and modify 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications for power generation equipment and related components.Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to design systems that meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and material selection based on design requirements.Support prototype development, testing, and validation of new designs.Assist in troubleshooting design issues and providing technical recommendations for product improvements.Maintain documentation, revision control, and design records in accordance with internal and industry standards.Participate in design reviews, ensure manufacturability, and support cross-functional teams during production launches.Interpret customer requirements and provide customized design solutions for specific applications.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.1–5 years of engineering or design experience (preferably in power generation, heavy equipment, machinery, or industrial systems).Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar).Understanding of engineering principles, applied mechanics, and manufacturing processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Experience
Background in power generation, rotating machinery, engines, generators, or mechanical systems.Experience with GD&T, FEA, CFD, or other simulation/analysis tools.Familiarity with ASME, ISO, or industry-specific standards.Knowledge of PLC systems, electrical schematics, or control systems (a plus, not required).
