Position Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in a full-time, on-site plant environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a hands-on setting, enjoys solving real-world problems, and wants to see their designs built and functioning in the field.
You will be responsible for the design and development of custom hydraulic systems and heavy material handling equipment, working directly with manufacturing and customers to deliver engineered solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Ownership
Lead engineering projects from concept through fabrication, assembly, and final validationEnsure designs meet performance, cost, and timeline expectationsHydraulic System Design
Design and integrate custom hydraulic systems for heavy material handling equipmentSelect components (valves, cylinders, pumps, hoses) and develop system layoutsTroubleshoot and refine hydraulic performance during build and testing phasesHands-On Engineering
Work directly in the plant environment to support assembly, testing, and commissioningCollaborate with technicians and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and buildableParticipate in debugging, problem-solving, and continuous improvement on the floorCross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with manufacturing, controls, and sales teams to align engineering solutions with customer needsEngage with suppliers to identify and source optimal componentsCustomer & Supplier Interaction
Support technical discussions with customers to clarify requirements and scopeWork with vendors to develop and refine component solutions within design constraintsDocumentation & Continuous Improvement
Maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, and revisionsIdentify opportunities to improve design efficiency, cost, and performanceQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field3+ years of experience in a hands-on engineering or design roleStrong experience with hydraulic systems design and troubleshootingProficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)Solid understanding of: Manufacturing processesMechanical systems and assembliesHeavy equipment or industrial machinery (preferred)Ability to work effectively in a plant/production environmentStrong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions with incomplete informationWhat We’re Looking For

Job Summary: We are seeking a driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineer-to-Order team. You will be joining a team of skilled engineers to create new custom-order heavy material handling equipment. You will collaborate with your team members to develop novel solutions to challenging engineering problems and see your designs come to life!
Key Responsibilities:
Projects: Planning, development, and execution of engineering projects from concept through to production. Ensure projects meet technical specifications, timelines, and budget.Design and Innovation: Design of new products and the refinement of existing ones. Encourage innovation and ensure that design practices adhere to the highest industry standards.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Manufacturing and Sales, to ensure product designs are feasible and align with customer and market needs.Customer management/Supplier Development: Work directly with the end customer to ensure alignment of engineering scope and engage your supply base to find the best components to meet your design constraints.Continuous Improvement: Focus on continuous improvement practices to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and streamline design processes.Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation and track product changes and challenges to advise project performance metrics and future opportunities.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design & Manufacturing, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering role.Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering design principles.Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of materials, fabrication processes, and engineering standards.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make educated decisions based on incomplete dataWhy Join Us?
