Position Summary: ALIGN Precision is seeking a motivated and dependable Engineer / IT Intern to support our enterprise-wide Windows 10 End-of-Life (EOL) hardware replacement initiative. This is a long-term temporary position expected to run at least through year-end, with potential for extension based on project needs. This role will work closely with the Infrastructure and IT teams to assist with laptop deployments, workstation replacements, imaging, inventory tracking, user support, and onsite rollout activities across multiple business units nationwide. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, technically curious, and comfortable traveling as needed to support deployment activities at various manufacturing locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with enterprise laptop and hardware deployment activities
• Configure, image, and prepare Windows 11 devices for end users
• Support workstation replacements and user migrations
• Help track hardware inventory, asset assignments, and deployment status
• Provide basic end-user technical support during rollout activities
• Assist with docking station, monitor, and peripheral setup
• Support troubleshooting of deployment-related issues
• Coordinate with internal IT staff and third-party partners during rollout events
• Maintain accurate documentation and deployment records
• Travel to various business units as required to support deployment schedules

Qualifications:
Experience and Education:o Pursuing or recently completed degree/certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
Technical Skills:o Strong interest in IT infrastructure, hardware deployment, and end-user support
o Hardware setup skills including installation of SSDs, SATA drives, and RAM
o Experience installing and configuring Windows 10/11 operating systems

Consults with internal and external suppliers to discuss estimates and resolve issues. Identifies and quantifies cost factors, such as production time and raw material, equipment, and labor expenses. Estimates have to take many factors into account, including allowances for wasted material, bad weather, shipping delays, and other factors that can increase costs and lower profitability. Reads blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates. Collaborates with engineers, clients, and contractors on estimates. Uses sophisticated computer software to calculate estimates. Recommends ways to make the project more cost effective or profitable. Prepare estimates for clients. Develops project plans for the duration of the project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Accurately interpret customer engineering data to prepare and execute the estimating functions of new opportunities. Analyze and compile estimating data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment, and other factors to ensure high quality and risk mitigation. Exercise discretionary judgment in analyzing alternative solutions and methods to increase competitiveness. Work with production personnel interpreting requirements, providing technical support and supplying pertinent information. Generate tooling estimates for supporting tools. Complete all required training and any additional training required by manager. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience and Education: Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of experience, or a master’s degree with 0-2 years of experience Technical Skills: Ability to make reliable predictions as it relates to cost and be comfortable making impactful decisions. Must be comfortable communicating with outside customers. Basic to intermediate computer skills required (Outlook, Excel, Work, etc.) Comfortable using 3D software such as AutoCAD or equivalent. Ability to become familiar with multiple customer specifications and requirements. Basic to intermediate knowledge of machining and sheet metal manufacturing process. Ability to interpret standard drawing tolerances and GD&T callouts. Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions) Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers, peers, and other departments. Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organization skills and attention to detail Physical Requirements: Extended screen time Long periods of sitting Potentially long hours
