JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Handyman/Maintenance person to the Program Director for our residential facilities. The Handyman will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for our residents and staff by addressing routine maintenance issues, completing repair projects, and conducting preventative maintenance tasks in compliance with state and local regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, with primary focus on plumbing and painting, along with basic electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
Conduct plumbing work including repairing leaks, unclogging drains, fixing toilets, replacing faucets, and maintaining water systems.
Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, doors, ceilings, and touch-ups to maintain facility appearance.
Repair and replace fixtures, appliances, doors, windows, and furniture as needed.
Ensure the facility meets all safety standards and applicable building code requirements, including Title 22 regulations.
Address any maintenance-related safety concerns promptly to ensure resident and staff well-being.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify, report, and resolve maintenance issues proactively.
Maintain and service facility systems including plumbing, basic electrical, and other operational equipment.
Perform general cleaning and upkeep of maintenance areas, storage spaces, and exterior surroundings as needed.
Maintain landscaping and outdoor areas, including gardening, mowing, trimming, watering, and general grounds maintenance.
Be available to respond to maintenance emergencies as needed, including after-hours or on-call situations.
Work closely with the Facility Administrator to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
Coordinate with external vendors or contractors when specialized repairs or services are required.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, repairs, inspections, and completed work.
Ensure all maintenance documentation complies with state and local requirements for ARF facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience in general maintenance, repairs, or related handyman work (preferably in a residential care facility, assisted living, or similar setting).
Strong working knowledge of building systems, including plumbing (primary), painting, basic electrical, and general facility maintenance.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
Familiarity with safety procedures and building code requirements.
EDUCATION
High school graduate or equivalent (Preferred) ANDMinimum of 3 year of experience in a residential care facility, assisted living or human service setting. (Experience can be substituted with ARF Administrator Certificate).OR
Bachelor’s degree AND Minimum of 1 year experience required in a accounting systems (Experience can be substituted with Bachelor’s Degree in Finance).SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge in plumbing and painting (highly preferred); electrical or HVAC experience is a plus.

JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Medical Technician to join our facilities. Technicians must have a sharp analytical mind, excellent organization skills, and serve as a crucial link between patient and physician. The MedTech is responsible for promoting the health and well-being of every resident by providing direct care to residents while promoting a safe and neat manner within facility standards and State and Federal Regulations. The MedTech is also responsible to maintenance of Medicine and medication room supply and upkeep of medication room and medical equipment. MedTech are under general supervision of the Admin/Program Director.
Shift availability will vary including shifts that occur during AM, PM and NOC (overnight awake shift). The primary need is for overnight shift coverage/night shift. Experience working with individuals with behavioral health conditions or addiction experience preferred.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Provides prescription and nonprescription medications to clients.Assists clients in seeking and/or receiving adequate medical care.Responsible for the accurate and timely distribution of medications to residents according to the written orders and instructions provided by physicians (Document immediately when medication is given to resident).Fax new orders to pharmacy following Company policies and procedures.Re-order medications following the Company policies and procedures.Observe and immediately report any changes in resident condition following the “Medication Training” policies and procedures.Always keep medication room and cart clean and orderly.Complete all documentation on a new resident for the medication program in a timely manner.Log in all medication deliveries on the resident’s Centrally Stored sheet.Ensure accuracy of Medication Assistance Record (MAR) at all times, and report concerns to Manager.Follow all universal and safety precautions.Understand and follow all emergency protocols and respond to emergencies as directed and per Community training.Treat residents with dignity and respect. Provide privacy during personal care.Administers/applies prescribed ointments/powders/other skin medications, prescribed wound care treatments, CBG and insulin medication.Keep medication room, cart, cupboards, and records locked when not in use.Destroy medications following the community’s policies and procedures.File appropriate paperwork in resident’s charts.Verify the resident’s medications prior to dispensation with the resident’s physician and every six months thereafter in order to provide the best service and make sure the resident is taking the proper dosages and the proper medication.Ensure residents do not run out of medications at any time.Record any medication changes per doctor’s orders in all the proper documents as specified in Medication Procedures and Company Policies.Follow up orders/prescriptions of medications from pharmacy (and oversee medication refills) and set/follow up doctor appointments for residents.Observes, records and reports to the Admin/Program Director symptoms and conditions of residents that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions, medication side effects or change in condition of residents.Monitors medications to ensure adequate accountability measure are taken when medications are ordered, received into the facility administered and change of shift as required by policies and procedure of Rivera Vill & Riviera Club, and applicable state/federal regulations.Communicate to Physician, Pharmacist, family, conservator, and treatment team if resident misses any scheduled doses of medication.Must be organized, dependable and prompt for assigned shift(s)
QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
The position requires a hands-on professional and have the following qualifications:
EDUCATION:
High school graduate or equivalent (Preferred)AND
Minimum of 3 year of experience as a MedTech/Caregiver in a residential care facility, assisted living or a memory care facility required (dispensing medication, and familiarity with using electronic medical records).OR
Bachelor’s degree.AND
Minimum of 1 year experience required in a human service field.
