  Extrusion Manager The Extrusion Manager is responsible for providing guidance, support and mentorship to all employees in the Extrusion department. This position is also responsible for achieving short and long-term strategic goals to ensure growth of the department and organization. Essential Duties And Responsibilities The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines Exhibit active leadership in order to model and support the company's vision and strategies Continuously build relationships throughout the department and company in order to best serve and support co-workers and employees Ensure the department has the tools and resources to keep other departments informed of any delays or changes in scheduled arrival times of products required by the department Work with the Plant Manager to manage the department's labor and expense budget and ensure expenses are within the budget Provide leadership to department team members: Communicate priorities and project assignments Develop and implement adequate cross-training Provide continuing education, training and development opportunities Provide coaching to employees to support their grow within their position and the company Ensure expectations and responsibilities are known and followed Monitor employee performance and assist with employee performance reviews Delegate special projects Participate in the interviewing and selection process for department openings as needed Identify and implement methods for reducing costs and expenses in the department Review and analyze department data and trends to make continuous improvement recommendations Oversee continuous improvement initiatives in regards to revenue generation and top die performance Partner with the extrusion supervisors to manage work schedules Respond to emergency situations during and after standard hours to resolve issues that may arise Develop and implement department goals and key measures that align with the mission, vision and values of the organization Prepare for and participate in the development and preparation of capital requisition projects Develop and oversee department project planning Partner with various managers and teams to continuously analyze and ensure the quality of aluminum extrusions meets company standards Support and improve quality systems and expectations Partner with other Alexandria Industries facilities to manage and monitor extrusion capacity, and help to appropriately distribute work when needed Review and submit employee time sheets bi-weekly and PTO requests as needed Other Job Duties Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner. Minimum Qualifications Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in business management, Engineering, or related program Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.   CNC Machine Operator Alexandria, MN - 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 11:00pm-7:00am) The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for loading/unloading parts into Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, while ensuring finished parts meet customer specifications and company quality standards. This position is also responsible for ensuring that production processes are accurate and efficient, and that safety and quality standards are maintained throughout all areas in the facility. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines Operate CNC machines and perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner in alignment with company policies Read and follow instructions on manufacturing orders and blueprints to ensure that components meet product and customer design specifications Perform quality inspections using precision measurement devices to ensure all parts meet specifications Accurately use all measurement tools and hand tools as needed Perform tool offset adjustments as needed Perform tool and insert changes when needed Assist with setup preparations and tear down processes Provide machine shop support; deburring, tumbling, packing, assembly, punching, bending, etc. Perform basic machine maintenance as needed; clean out chips, monitor coolant levels, etc. Follow all company initiatives in the areas of 5S, quick-response-manufacturing (QRM), and safety Communicate effectively with supervisor, team members and other shifts as needed to ensure efficient and successful completion of customer orders Maintain department and company performance and production goals Troubleshoot machine errors and part variances and suggest improvements to improve quality Operate manual machining equipment as needed Cross train within the machine shop to learn and develop skills on a variety of machines and equipment Minimum Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Ability to recognize safety concerns A highly motivated self-starter Strong written and verbal communication skills Basic math skills Ability to multi-task Strong decision-making skills Ability to take part in continuous training and education Benefits A.I.
