The company’s Fuzing & Ordnance Systems designs ruggedized electronics for military fuzing and ordnance systems. Staff have led or supported development, design, qualification, and manufacture of electronic and electro-mechanical fuzing devices for large defense contractors and direct government customers. The role is a fast-paced, dynamic electrical engineering position requiring flexibility, technical leadership, independent execution, and strong written/verbal communication.
- Develop and refine requirements.
- Interface with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Perform circuit design and component selection for ruggedized electronics used in ordnance applications.
- Perform simulations and circuit tolerance analyses.
- Prepare and execute test plans and generate test reports.
- Assist in failure investigations using structured methods.
- Lead team members to achieve program objectives.
- Mentor less experienced engineers.
- Prepare materials for and participate in design reviews.
- Generate engineering change orders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Travel 5-10%.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience; graduate degree and minimum 7 years prior related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, minimum 13 years prior related experience. Confirm 9+ years relevant EE experience or equivalent, ability to obtain Secret clearance, circuit design experience, simulation tools, Altium/PADS or similar design software, test plan/report experience, design review participation, team leadership/mentoring, and Cincinnati/relocation fit.
Nice to have additional skills:
- Analog and digital circuit design, power circuit design, and sensor integration.
- Design with analog components such as differential amplifiers, op amps, and filters.
- Design with digital components such as logic gates and timers.
- Power supply and converter design.
- Simulation tools including SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Design software such as Altium and PADS.
- Circuit analysis, module design, EMI, ESD protection, and DFM best practices.
- Test plans/reports and comprehensive testing.
- Troubleshooting with oscilloscopes and function generators.
- Technical project leadership and detailed technical documentation.
- Design reviews and root cause analysis.
- Multitasking across multiple projects.
- Self-starter able to execute with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Electronic Safety and Arming Devices (ESADs) and Safety Review Boards.
- Knowledge of extreme environmental design and testing with energetic materials.
- Effective communicator and team player.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
