About the Team
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Alaska Behavioral Health provides confidential, high-quality behavioral healthcare services and local resource connection to post 9/11 veterans (including National Guard and Reserves), their families, active-duty service members and the families of active-duty service members, which includes spouse or partner, children, parents, siblings, caregivers, and others.
The Clinician will work as a part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care. They will receive state-of-the-art training, clinical supervision, and support to provide the most effective, scientifically supported, evidence-based treatments available for to children, youth, adults, and families. We engage clinicians in continuous professional development to improve their clinical practice, learn new treatments, and achieve excellent patient outcomes.

About the Team
The Residential team provides mental health residential treatment for adults with acute mental health needs who have not responded to outpatient treatment and have needs that cannot be met in a less restrictive setting or would benefit from further treatment following inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. The team provides medication services and individual and group services with a focus on skill development including communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution; life and social skills to restore functioning; and self-regulation, anger management, and other mood management skills.
What You’ll Do
Provide clinical leadership that is consistent with AKBH’s mission, values, and goals to a multidisciplinary team of mental health service providersEnsure program clinical records comply with AKBH policies and procedures as well as external audit requirementsWork with leadership and the Residential Team to plan, propose, and implement new ideas for community needs and resource development (grants, contracts)Direct and coordinate the client admission process in collaboration with Residential Managers, as well as treatment, rehabilitation, and support services of the program with the Team’s psychiatric providers Provide clinical direction to clinical associates, peer support specialists, and floor staffConduct clinical assessment and provide direct clinical, rehabilitation, and support services to clients

AKBH can assist with providing licensure on site for Unlicensed Clinicians.AKBH consistently provides both individual and group clinical licensure supervision for our behavioral health providers who are working towards their post-master's and post-doctoral clinical licenses. The most common licenses for therapists in Alaska are Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Both require 100 hours of clinical supervision. Market rates for licensure clinical supervision are $150-$200 and hour. At 100 hours, that is a $15,000 to $20,000 value – and our staff receive it as a free benefit.Pay Range is $73,100 to $89,000 depending on experience. This position is eligible for a $10,000 signing bonus and annual incentive opportunities up to 5% of your salary.

The Partial Hospitalization team is multi-disciplinary and serves children ages 9-17 and adults with acute needs or who are not responding to a lower level of care. The program includes medication management, intensive therapy, and skill-building to help clients regain stability, improve quality of life, and avoid the need for higher levels of care.
Alaska Behavioral Health is a National Child Traumatic Stress Network site and training hub for childhood mental health and trauma treatment.
