    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Social Recreation Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the social, recreational, and emotional well-being of youth ages 8–18 at the Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center. This position plays a key role in creating a vibrant, engaging, and safe environment in the Center’s family room and common areas. The Coordinator will design and lead structured activities that promote fun, peer interaction, teamwork, creativity, and life skills. In addition, this individual will oversee the administration of the Center’s daily food service program and lead the planning and execution of special events.

    Scheduled work time: M-F 2pm-6pm. Occasional weekends with notification

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Program Development & Facilitation

    Develop and implement age-appropriate recreational, social, and enrichment activities for students ages 8–18.Foster a welcoming environment in the family room, promoting positive social interaction, inclusion, and youth leadership.Incorporate games, arts, physical activities, and cultural experiences into daily and weekly schedules.Support activities that align with students’ physical, emotional, and social development.2. Food Service Program Management

    Coordinate the daily food/snack distribution program, ensuring meals meet health and safety standards.Track meal counts, maintain food records, and liaise with vendors as needed.Support students during mealtimes and promote a respectful, clean, and safe dining atmosphere.3. Event Planning & Management

    Plan, organize, and lead special events including holiday parties, student celebrations, themed activities, and family nights.Manage event logistics, including setup, staffing, supplies, and post-event evaluations.Collaborate with program staff to align events with the Center’s mission and goals.4. Youth Engagement & Safety

    Supervise students during structured and unstructured times, maintaining a positive and respectful environment.Promote and model positive behavior, conflict resolution, and leadership among students.Ensure all activities are inclusive, safe, and responsive to students' needs and interests.Qualifications:

    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in recreation, education, child development, or related field preferred.Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth in a social, educational, or recreational setting.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to engage youth effectively.Experience planning and leading youth programs and events.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse staff, youth, and families.Must pass background check and meet food handler and health/safety requirements.Working Conditions:

    Must be available to work afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed.Some lifting, physical activity, and standing for extended periods may be required.

    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Van Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of youth participants to and from the Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center, as well as to field trips, events, and other related activities including transportation from school. This role includes ensuring the safety of all passengers, maintaining the cleanliness and operation of the vehicle, and adhering to the organization’s policies and procedures.

    Scheduled work times: Monday: 12:30pm-4pm. Tuesday: 2:30pm-4:30pm. Wednesday: 1pm-5pm. Thursday: 2pm-5:30pm. Friday: 1:30pm-4:30pm.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Safe Transportation:
     Safely transport youth participants between their homes, schools, the Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center, and other destinations as required. Follow all traffic laws and driving regulations to ensure the safety of passengers. 
    Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection:
     Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the Transportation Coordinator promptly. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle. Passenger Management:
     Ensure that all passengers are wearing seatbelts and are seated safely during transit. Assist youth in boarding and exiting the vehicle as needed. Monitor passenger behavior during transportation and enforce safety rules.Schedule Adherence:
     Follow the assigned schedule and routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers. Communicate any delays or issues with the Transportation Coordinator or Program Director.Record Keeping:
     Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or accidents that occur during transport. Complete and submit any required documentation or reports in a timely manner. Communication:
     Maintain effective communication with the Transportation Coordinator, Program Director, and parents/guardians regarding transportation schedules, changes, or concerns. Report any concerns related to the youth’s well-being or safety to the appropriate staff member.Support of Program Activities:
     Assist with loading and unloading of equipment or materials needed for field trips or events. Support the youth center’s mission by being a positive role model and engaging with the youth when appropriate.
    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:
    High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience as a van driver, bus driver, or similar role preferred. Experience working with youth is a plus.Licenses and Certifications:
     Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement may be required depending on the vehicle type.Skills and Abilities:
     Strong knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving techniques. Ability to communicate effectively with youth, parents, and staff. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to remain calm and handle emergencies or unexpected situations effectively.Working Conditions:

    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to sit for extended periods while driving. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., loading/unloading equipment). Ability to assist youth with mobility challenges in boarding and exiting the vehicle. Work Environment:
     Work involves exposure to varying weather conditions while driving and during boarding/exiting of passengers Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Membership/Database Specialist is an integral part of a team-oriented and results driven area of the  Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center. The position is responsible for the accurate inputting of member information and the tracking of the programs and outcomes that the students participate in. The specialist is responsible for supporting and performing the organization’s membership database                                      functions utilizing Kid Trax membership program and utilizing the Apricot system to adhere to data entry and tracing of outcomes and participation of students. To successfully fulfill this role, the Specialist should be highly detailed orientated with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry. The role also requires heavy computer and office-based responsibilities.

    HOURS: Mon-Fri. 1pm-5pm. Some Saturdays may be required with notice 

    RESPONSIBILITIES
     
    ·       Support the organization’s strategic use of data to further the goals and processing of the membership objectives.
    ·       Collaborate with program staff to ensure that all data relating to the programs and activities that youth are participating in are       captured in membership and database programs 
    ·       Ensure that data that is being inputted is accurate
    ·       Provide reports to directors and other staff when instructed to. Information should be able to be explained with appropriate details 
    ·       Act as an internal trainer with membership and database systems in tools when necessary
    ·       Assess and update database documentation processes and procedures when necessary 
    ·       Invite and build upon the ideas and input of others
    ·       Communicate with parents and assist them in the using of the membership system when necessary 
    ·       Establish proper policies and procedures are put in place that allows trouble shooting when membership and database systems are not functioning properly 
    ·       When instructed, attend community and agency events to promote the Al Wooten Jr Youth Center and the programs and activities that are provided to the youth and their families
    ·       Supports basic office duties and responsibilities including answering office phone calls and customer service functions

    QUALIFICATIONS 
     
    ·       1-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred
    ·       1-3 years of applicable database experience required; hands on experience with membership base and or database programs preferred
    ·       Exceptional organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
    ·       Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills, including the ability to provide technical support to others of all levels and backgrounds 
    ·       High level of discretion, professionalism and confidentiality required 
    ·       Demonstrated ability to work both as a team member and independently with minimal supervision in a time sensitive environment
    ·       Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office 365 and Google platform utilities 
    ·       Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and effective messages to all staff members, students and their families
