Overview The Operations Manager is responsible for establishing and executing company strategy related to domestic and international freight movements through an understanding of industry trends and best practices. Recruit, develop and motivate staff to provide a world class customer experience and meet or exceed client expectations. Insure the station has the necessary tools in place to succeed and expand their business levels in international products lines in a sustained fashion. Work with current and prospective logistics services providers and internal AIT functions to develop the best overall strategy. Execution of those strategies includes establishing, measuring and managing to applicable metrics with service providers, vendors and internal AIT functions to ensure timely and efficient flow of product for AIT. Responsibilities * Develop and execute the station's operations strategy of AIT * Ensure processes and metrics are in place to insure growth, service and profitability goals are accomplished. * Manage and communicate with AIT's carriers insuring best value and service vs objectives. * Exhibits strong negotiating skills and execution in Freight Forwarding Carrier Agreements. * Ensures providers meet and adhere to the scope of SLA (Service Logistics Agreement) and agreed terms of service. * Ability to track performance and develop strategic processes and proactively improve efficiencies and reduce lead time lanes. * Continue to build rapport with clients and work to develop new opportunities and create and manage key visual tools and tracking processes. * Provides coaching and mentoring employees in a broad global environment. * Actively support key account operations requirements and insure service execution and reliability. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in logistics or equivalent experience Required * 5+ years of international freight forwarding, airfreight and ocean freight, Required * 3+ years P&L experience, Required and 3+ years of operations supervisory experience and managing a team Required * 3+ years Previous experience in a diversified freight forwarding industry Preferred * 3+ years International Freight Forward industry experience Required * Operational and P&L management of global products and services in a high performance organization. * Excellent organization and time management skills. * Excellent communication skills both written and oral with the ability to communicate to employees, manager and upper management levels. * High Advanced Computer Skills * IATA certified, DG certification Preferred What AIT Can Offer You In addition to your base compensation, you may be eligible for a bonus based on achievement of business and/or individual performance metrics (dependent on position). Overview As an AIT Worldwide Logistics intern, you will join a rotational program that provides a high-level overview of station operations, followed by formal instructor-led training, an opportunity to work hands on in operational departments, exposure to senior leaders and exciting opportunities to see the supply chain firsthand. Depending on the location where you are stationed, each intern may get exposure and formal training in air freight, sea freight, road, warehousing, customs and corporate functions. Overview The International Air Gateway Agent role manages and operates the AIT Gateway functionality. It serves as a liaison between the rest of US & Overseas AIT stations as well as Global Agent providers that have Air freight transiting. Responsibilities * Manage all Console pre-bookings, schedule and post it on CargoWise * Obtain and maintain the scheduled consoles rates * Book all B2B requests from stations, vertical teams and account managers * Obtain all pricing requests from carriers by all stations, vertical teams, and account managers * Report to all stations, vertical teams, account managers, etc. all cargo received at the Dock that belongs to them for a console or B2B shipment (i.e. scan and email warehouse receipts) * Process all MAWBs, consoles and B2B. Ensure all HAWBs link to a console or B2B master have the necessary approval from destination agent * Manage the pre-screening process (once the CCSF is running) - Gateway team will work in conjunction with CCSF facilities to make sure that screening is being handled timely and accurately * Transfer all consoles and B2B MAWBs to the airline * Gateway team to upload all key milestone compliances as it pertains to the perfect shipment process. This will include tracking and updating CW for all MAWBs (console & B2B once confirmed onboard and arrived at destination) * Manage the station CSF process (once it's running). Ensure every inbound shipment (IE, T&E, etc.) is transferred within the required time by Customs Gateway team to make sure that all inbound cargo arriving into a port is cleared properly and closed out before export. * Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary. This role will be responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciliations, schedules and other financial activities within the organization. A key cog in the monthly close process, this teammate will need to have strong financial analysis skills in order to prepare financial reports and generate and interpret financial records & statements for management. Additionally, with the international growth of the company, there will be opportunities to support the global consolidation process. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible with leveraging previous experience and technical accounting skills to improve the current processes in place. Responsibilities * Perform monthly responsibilities including journal entries, reconciliations and financial schedules. * Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements. * Research technical accounting topics. * Support the global consolidation process. * Prepare or update accounting policies and memos. * Look to continuously improve existing processes. * Assist with integration of acquisitions into AIT's accounting processes and systems. * Ensure activities are in compliance with company accounting policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. * Responds to inquiries from management, auditors and other internal customers as needed. * Performs various special projects as needed. * The wage range for this position is $92,700.00-$139,060.00 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience Qualifications Education Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree Required Experience Qualifications * 3+ years working in an accounting or audit department for a mid to large size company or audit firm. Required * 3+ years with strong expertise in ASC 606, including revenue analysis, contract review, and documentation of revenue conclusions.
