    Position Summary:

    The Bench Mechanic I is a key member of the manufacturing team in a high mix, lower volume environment, reporting to the Operations manager. Airtomic is an FAA Repair Station, this position performs all required pressure testing and cleaning of all aircraft engine components as defined in the engineering process routing. Read and understand routing instructions are critical to ensure product safety. The position is entry level in the production process, leading to training in duct and metal fabrication and repair. The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving, working in a fast-paced environment and self-directed.

    Position Summary:

    The Welder/Fabricator Level One is a key member of the manufacturing team in a high mix, lower volume environment, reporting to the Shop Floor Supervisor. Airtomic is an FAA Repair Station. This position performs all required welding and fabricating operations of all aircraft engine components as defined in the engineering process routing. Read and understand routing instructions are critical to ensure product safety. This position is entry level in the production process. The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving, working in a fast-paced environment and self-directed.

    Key Position Responsibilities:

    · Acts proactively supporting safety at all times. Safety is ALWAYS first

    · Position is up tempo and very detail oriented

    · Interpret routings, op sheets and draw on personal knowledge to determine most efficient approach to repair a given part

    · Polishing and basic blending of product

    · Cutting / prepping parts for welding

    · Cold work tubes, ducts & manifolds to conform to check fixtures

    · TIG weld or torch braze thin wall tubes, or tubular products, ducts and manifolds to aerospace quality standards

    · Experience in TIG welding titanium, stainless steel, and nickel alloys.

    · Fabrication and blueprint reading experience.

    · Experience with tight tolerance components.

    · Must have the ability to work with precision hand measuring equipment.

    · Experience in setting up work in jigs and fixtures.

    · Ability to read blueprints, drawings, testing and assembly procedures.

    · Willing and able to work overtime

    · Operate an Orbital Weld machine

    · Identify potential process improvements

    · Clean and pressure test product as assigned

    · Bead blast product as needed

    · Ensures products adhere to quality standards

    · Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues

    · Ability to adapt, communicate, be decisive, be dependable, and take initiative.

    · Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers

    · Ensure hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored, and handled for proper disposal.

    · As required, performs work assignments as directed

    Required qualification / Education / and/or Experience:

    · High school diploma, GED or equivalent

    · Valid driver's license

    · Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position

    · Ability to organize priorities, daily tasks and complete actions on time, in a fast-paced environment.

    · Strong work ethic and leadership ability

    · Must be able to provide proof of legal ability to work in the United States

    · Must be able to read, write and speak English

    · Must be able to pass FAA drug screen and background check

    · Experience welding thin wall (.030-.070”) stainless steel or nickel alloys

    · Ability to certify to NADCAP requirements (AWS D17.1) for stainless steel on all required joint types

    · Ability to certify as a (CWI) Certified Weld Inspector (AWS QC1, B5.2)

    · Experience in or ability to be trained as a torch brazer

    · Experience in Aerospace welding or thin metalworking

    · Applies basic math and blueprint interpretation skills

    The Quality Engineer IV ensures the highest quality for MRO and OEM product and certifications. Supports AS9100 QMS, FAA RSM, EASA, CAAC, JCAB, NADCAP regulatory processes.
