    Job Description

    Airdo Werwas, LLC, is seeking an experienced corporate/transactional associate to join our dynamic national practice. Our firm handles a broad range of complex matters in a variety of areas, including nonprofit and local government law, complex tort and healthcare defense, commercial litigation and transactional matters, and real estate development. Ideal candidates will have 3 to 7 years of experience in local government, corporate, or transactional law, with demonstrated experience in representing nonprofit, religious, and/or other tax-exempt organizations. The ideal candidate will also be able to work directly with local government clients to assist in their general governance matters and will be expected to attend board meetings.     Qualifications:

    · 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in corporate or transactional law.

    · Experience with nonprofit, religious, and/or other tax-exempt clients preferred.

    · History of academic success.

    · Excellent organizational abilities and talents to work independently.

    · Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    · In good standing with the Illinois bar.

    · Strong research skills.

    · Strong analytical and writing skills.

    · Strong organizational and time management skills.

    · Availability to work in person.

     

    Duties & Responsibilities

    · Direct responsibility for advising clients on corporate governance matters, preparing bylaws and policies, and drafting and negotiating contracts and other transactions.

    · Conduct legal research competently and with proficiency.

    · Review client documents and draft case evaluations and status reports.

    · Attend board meetings.

     

    Job Type: Full-time

     

    Salary: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year, based on experience

We are hiring for both a Litigation Associate Attorney and a Litigation Senior Counsel position. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation, including the defense of complex matters such as healthcare-related claims, professional liability, institutional negligence, regulatory-adjacent disputes, and high-exposure tort cases. Candidates with directly relevant experience are preferred, but attorneys with strong litigation skills in other areas who are interested in transitioning into civil defense work for long-term care providers, nonprofit organizations, and similar clients are encouraged to apply.
