    Air General, a third-generation, family-owned, national cargo handling company, is looking for a Part-time Warehouse Agent - Air Cargo at our located in our Kansas City International airport (MCI) location.

    The Warehouse Agent - Air Cargo will be primarily responsible for loading and unloading cargo (freight, and company material), transporting of cargo between terminals and aircraft; the transfer of cargo where required; receiving, delivering, and physical handling of freight and company material, at the designated docks, the completion of forms and messages related to and necessary for the performance of the designated locations of the functions described. May be assigned to perform routine cleaning of work areas and facilities with or without powered equipment. May be assigned to assist in monitoring security of the facility. Complying with AG site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations. Remain cognizant of AG staff, security contractors, and visitors' activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the applicable airport reporting system. The successful candidate should demonstrate the capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

    Job Responsibilities include:

    Responsible for moving air cargo within designated warehouses.Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers.Build up cargo for outbound flights.Break down cargo from import flights.Facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from semitrucks.May operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks.Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate when accepting or delivering cargo.May transport cargo to and from aircraft driving, 3,000 lb. vehicle using depth perception to negotiate vehicles with attached carts through congested areas. Reading "off-load" sheets to determine the destination of cargo.All other duties as assigned by supervisor/management.

    Requirements:

    High school diploma or GED required.Must be able to obtain a valid airport SIDA badge.Must be at least 18 years of age.Must have a valid and unexpired US Driver’s license.Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.Must be able to clearly understand and communicate in English when performing essential job functions.Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks, applicable Custom Security Seal, and post offer drug screens.Be available to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Ability to handle stress in a high-noise fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.Some travel may be required for airline specific training.

    Schedule: Part- time hours would be 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm (Saturday and Sunday)
    (more hours would be available during the week, if needed or wanted)

    Overnight Mail Agent Responsibilities:

    Promptly sort outbound mail tendered by USPS by destination and flight number.Load sorted mail onto carts by flight number and destination.Separate mail for smooth loading.Establish correct weight for mail.Enter weights into DRP for flight STD – 75 minutes.Create an AWB entry into Sabre.Complete paper manifest for all mail per destination.Obtain sign off from runner for mail being positioned to ramp.Properly disqualify mail for flight disruption or late received mail.Dump and scan inbound mail.Complete any necessary postal logs as applicable within prescribed timeframes.Obtain USPS manifests for each flight.Inbound mail tallied by flight number DRPU entries.Keep proper statistics of all mail handled.Retain all records of mail activities in organized filing system.Secure mail in covered / closed carts.Ensure mail does not get wet.Ensure mail is secure at all times.Report discrepancies to supervisor.Liaise with downline stations on mail issues.Report suspicious activities to supervisor or Postal Authorities.Run the mail to the line, and deliver mail to postal facility from staging point.Schedule: 1:30 am - 10:00 am

    This position has a focus on customer service and strict adherence to safety and security procedures. Duties include documentation, data entry, great customer service and you must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

    Job Responsibilities:Prepare statistics and reports, as required by the customer, and distribute to all relevant parties. Maintain logs, files, and statistics as required.Provide details about shipments or handling incidents, which may result in future claims.Make accurate and timely data entries.Bring any customer issues to the attention of a supervisor.Prepare documentation for tracing action, perform follow-up, and keep customer informed of progress.Provide customers with information concerning the status of their shipments.Review and handle all messages requiring immediate responses or special handling. Liaise with supervisor as required. Deposit customer funds regularly, in accordance with customer requirements. Survey all work and office areas for neat, clean, and orderly conditions, including all back offices. Areas must be free of debris and any other work safety hazards.Challenge unauthorized persons entering non-public areas and report the incident to a manager.Adhere to all Air General safety and security procedures, and immediately report any discrepancies to a supervisor or manager.Use proper telephone etiquette; answer phones within 4 rings.Check daily briefings.Perform any other duties as directed by the managers.
