We are seeking an experienced Sr. Network/Systems Engineer to support the design, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of enterprise networking and hybrid infrastructure environments.
This is a hybrid position located in the Washington, DC metro area.
Responsibilities Include:
Design, engineer, integrate, implement, test, maintain, review, and administer infrastructure, hardware, and software to manage network security and risk posture in alignment with the organization's security strategy.Apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems engineering lifecycle to translate cyber objectives, technology trends, and environmental conditions into effective engineering solutions.Configure cyber systems to meet user requirements, ensuring that they are properly aligned with security policies and standards.Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts to address complex problems and provide innovative solutions in the cybersecurity domain.Possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and assignments, demonstrating expertise in multiple areas of cybersecurity and systems engineering.Plan and lead major technology assignments, evaluating performance results and recommending significant changes to ensure project success and growth.Serve as a technical expert across multiple project assignments, operating with substantial autonomy and providing mentorship or supervision to junior employees in technical competencies.Stay up to date on market and technology trends to identify and implement best-of-breed solutions for clients.Required Qualifications:
Must have at least 8 years of relevant experience in network and systems engineering roles, demonstrating a deep understanding of networking technologies, security solutions, and system administration.Bachelor's Degree in a related field.Must possess and maintain a current DoD Top Secret Clearance.Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements and maintain at least one of the specified certifications (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP).Required Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
Familiarity with and understanding of Zero Trust Architecture principles and implementation strategies. This includes implementing least privilege access controls, continuous authentication, and micro-segmentation to enhance network security. Experience with Versa Networks is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specific network technologies and solutions.Strong familiarity with network security solutions, including intrusion detection systems (IDS), firewall configurations, and other security measures.Proficiency in routing and switching technologies, particularly with Juniper and Cisco hardware.Experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting wireless networks.A solid grasp of networking fundamentals, including network functions, routing protocols, configuration mappings, and network drawings.Experience with various networking protocols such as BGP, static routing, IP multicast, and VPN technologies.Experience with MS Windows operating systems and Active Directory for system administration tasks.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio) for documentation and presentation purposes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for presenting findings to Engineering Review Boards and effectively collaborating with team members.Experience working in secure facilities, understanding high-side protocols, procedures, and security requirements.Ability to travel to client sites, both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS), as needed (approximately 15-25% travel).Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead projects independently.Strong attention to detail for information gathering, analysis, troubleshooting, and presentation purposes.Ability to interact effectively with team members while also being capable of working independently when necessary.The projected salary range for this position is $150,000+ annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including years of relevant experience, active security clearance level, certifications, technical skillset, contract requirements, and overall qualifications.
