The Overdose Prevention Coordinator plays a vital role in saving lives and strengthening community wellness. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about harm reduction, understands the realities of substance use, and is committed to empowering individuals through education, support, and non‐judgmental care. You will lead AHP’s overdose prevention efforts, ensuring that individuals at highest risk receive culturally competent services, resources, and guidance. Your work will directly reduce overdose incidents and fatalities while helping clients build safer, healthier pathways forward.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all overdose prevention program activities, ensuring smooth, effective service deliveryConduct assessments and provide harm reduction counseling tailored to each client’s needsDeliver overdose prevention education, including safer use strategies and naloxone trainingDistribute harm reduction supplies and connect clients to essential resourcesProvide care coordination and warm handoffs to internal and external servicesMaintain accurate data, prepare timely reports, and support program evaluationParticipate in case conferences and collaborate with multidisciplinary teamsPerform additional duties as assigned to support program and agency goalsCompany DescriptionAfter Hours Project, is a grassroots community-based minority organization that provides a welcoming and nonjudgmental approach to injecting drug users, sex workers and the homeless, providing street-based outreach, education and referrals that promote better health and safer injection practices.
