As a Front Desk Specialist, you will be responsible for both front office duties and clinical assistance, including but not limited to:
Front Desk Duties:
Greet patients warmly and ensure a welcoming environmentHandle patient registration, check-in, and check-out processesVerify insurance information and process payments for co-pays and servicesAnswer and manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and provide general information about servicesMaintain patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulationsQualifications:

AFC Urgent Care Narberth is looking for an experienced, compassionate, and detail-oriented Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to join our growing healthcare team. You will be an essential part of ensuring our patients receive the best care, whether assisting with phlebotomy tasks or helping with other medical assistant duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Phlebotomy Tasks:
Perform accurate and efficient venipuncture, blood draws, and specimen collection.Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens for laboratory testing.Maintain an organized and sanitized workspace, ensuring compliance with infection control procedures.Communicate with patients to ease concerns and ensure a comfortable experience during blood draws.Clinical Medical Assistant Duties:
Conduct patient intake, recording accurate medical histories and vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, temperature).Administer injections, immunizations, and COVID-19 tests as directed by the physician.Assist in preparing patients for exams and procedures, ensuring comfort and proper positioning.Perform routine diagnostic procedures such as EKGs and spirometry.Assist physicians during physical exams, procedures, and minor surgical interventions.Educate patients on follow-up care, medications, and treatments as needed.Administrative Responsibilities:
Greet and check-in patients, verifying insurance information and collecting necessary documentation.Schedule patient appointments and manage the patient flow efficiently to minimize wait times.Answer phone calls, provide information to patients, and assist with billing or payment queries.Update and maintain patient records using EMR systems (experience with Experity is a plus).Assist with front desk duties such as data entry, maintaining inventory of medical supplies, and ordering when necessary.Compliance & Patient Care:
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including HIPAA guidelines.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinic environment.Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to ensure each patient has a positive experience.Stay current with certifications and participate in ongoing training as required.Qualifications:
Phlebotomy Certification: Required for blood draws and specimen collection.Medical Assistant Certification: Preferred but not required with equivalent experience in clinical settings.Proven experience in administering injections, EKGs, and other medical procedures.Strong knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR), with experience in Experity or similar systems being a plus.Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.CPR certification preferred but not required (training can be provided).Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.Work Environment:
