    We have an exciting opportunity for a Orion Crew Module Uprighting System (CMUS) Subsystem Manager to join the team with Aerodyne Industries, a teammate company.

    The Orion Crew Module Uprighting System (CMUS) Subsystem Manager will: Lead Risk Assessments and track the progress of mitigation steps Participate in CMUS design reviews, Hazard Analysis Reports, and weekly meetings with Orion stakeholders. Witness the development and qualification testing Conduct site visits to suppliers Participate in multiple spacecraft level forums representing CMUS Review of significant drawings, schematics, test plans, analysis, Failure Effects and Modes Analyses, requirements data, test data, critical processes, and address discrepancies and resolutions Coordinate with Softgoods Subject Matter Experts on changes to the design, non-conformances, verification evidence and participate in other reviews and activities as needed.     We have an exciting opportunity for a Command and Data Handling System Engineer to join the team with Aerodyne.

    The Command and Data Handling System Engineer will: The Command and Data Handling (C&DH) System Engineer supports the Gateway Command and Data Handling (C&DH) System, a critical sub-system of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon. Review designs and develop models for performance and reliability analysis. Work with Ethernet and internet protocols to optimize Quality of Service, end systems, network switches, and wireless design. Support cybersecurity efforts, including applying NIST 800-53 standards. Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering. Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities. Work with requirements to align with hardware specifications while understanding the verifications. Perform system engineering functions of projects and provide user input feedback during the design process. Work with ground testing and flight operations testing of hardware with end item documentation. Review sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering. Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews. Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance. Join the adventure of a lifetime by becoming a teammate with Aerodyne Industries and work on projects that will define our future.The Amentum ATOM Group at NASA Ames Research Center is seeking a skilled machinist to join our team in the Thermal Protection Materials Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining and engineering technician tasks to help support a significant capability in the Entry Systems and Technology Division. These groups are responsible for developing and testing spacecraft heat shield materials for NASA and external Customers.     A. Function of Position
    A STAR labs engineering technician will support the machining and assembly of material test models and other components. The technician will also support model and instrumentation fabrication and assembly.
    B. Roles and Responsibilities
    1. Use basic powered and manual shop equipment such as band saw, disc sander, drill press, manual lathe, and manual mill.
    2. Setup and operation of CNC mills and lathes.
    3. Interpret engineering drawings, cut rough stock, independently design and machine fixtures to machine hardware, and set up tooling.
    4. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in small teams is a must.
    5. Able to work on multiple projects and adjust work based on priorities.
    6. Overtime may be required at time for critical tasks.
    7. Support instrumentation and model assembly.
    C. Nature of Position
    The employee may be working multiple projects with varying deadlines. There may be cases where a project must be put on hold for a more urgent project. Some projects may be cancelled before being completed to address priorities. The employee may be required to communicate with requestors (customers) to clarify the requirements of the work. Occasionally requestor will want to be present when the hardware is being machined or fabricated. The employee should be comfortable with imperial and metric units. There may be cases imperial and metric units will be used on the same design.
    D. Supervisor Guidance
    General guidance shall be provided by the STAR Labs Supervisor. The employee will report to a lead senior machinist for direct guidance.Job RequirementsEDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    1-5 Years of experience in a related field is preferred. Associate degree is preferred, but not required.
    Experience with the following is preferred:
    • SurfCAM
    • HAAS mills, lathes, and the Mini Mill
    • SoldWorks (basic familiarity such as being able to open drawings, evaluate solid models, and make minor edits)
