This is a full-time, on-site position for a Registered Nurse. The Wound Care RN provides both clinical
and non-clinical support to our patients. Daily responsibilities include direct wound care to patients,
managing patient records, providing education to patients and families to ensure effective care plans,
and collaborating with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Providers, the Clinical Operations
Director and the Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs. This role also requires cross
training to Hyperbarics and ensuring the safe administration and monitoring of hyperbaric oxygen
therapy treatments. The Wound Care RN will adhere to industry and regulatory standards while
maintaining the clinic’s high-quality ethical care.
In this role it is necessary to:
Build positive relationships based on respect for others and demonstrate a helpful attitude
while maintaining strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with
colleagues, patients and families
Perform all work in strict compliance with the practice’s policies and procedures, complete daily
clinical tasks in a timely and accurate manner, as well as organize and prioritize clinical
responsibilities
Provide clinical oversight to team members, such as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs);
Medical Assistants (MAs); Hyperbaric Oxygen Technicians (HBO Techs), etc. and engage in
team member development and education, providing individual instruction and orientation
when needed
While serving as Case Manager, the role entails:
Performing the initial nursing assessment, communicating findings with the assigned provider,
assessing the wound stage and measurements, documenting care plans, evaluating the
patient’s status in regards to desired outcomes, and identifying patient care situations that
require intervention
Providing education to the patient and/or caregiver
Serving as a patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of the patient care including
record retrieval, ordering specific supplies or interventions, assisting with triage as well as
other tasks related to care coordination
May function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) and perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Demonstrates comprehensive patient care skills (including wound management, monitoring,
and education) and top quality critical thinking/decision-making abilities in clinical settings
Proficiency in patient documentation and managing electronic health records (EHR)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work on multiple tasks at the same time
Exceptional customer service skills, follow-up skills, and ability to stay calm in all situations
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Graduated from an accredited school with a degree in Nursing - ADN required, BSN
preferred
Holds current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Georgia - to be maintained
throughout the duration of employment in the position
Active American Heart Association CPR certification - BLS required
Experience with wound care treatment protocols, patient-centered care, and hyperbaric
oxygen therapy is a plus!
