As a CNC Lathe Setup Machinist, you will produce complex small components on dual-spindle turning centers, ensuring stable processes and high productivity from setup through production.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Perform complete setups on CNC dual-spindle lathes Synchronize main and sub-spindle operations Load, verify, and prove out CNC programs at the machine Install tooling, holders, collets, chucks, bar feeders, and part catchers Set tool offsets, wear offsets, and work coordinates Conduct first-article inspections and adjust as needed Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues Optimize cycle times, feeds, speeds, and tool life Maintain process stability during production Document setup parameters and production data Collaborate with programmers, quality, and production teams

Machines: Dual-Spindle CNC Lathes (Doosan, Miyano, Ganesh)
Controls: Fanuc
Production Systems: Bar feeders, part catchers, automation accessories
Inspection Tools: Micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, comparators

What We're Looking ForRequired
2+ years of CNC lathe setup experience Ability to independently set up jobs from prints and setup sheets Strong understanding of G-code and CNC controls Proficiency with precision measuring instruments Solid knowledge of cutting tools and inserts Ability to read blueprints and GD&T Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-orientedPreferred (Not Required)
Experience with dual-spindle machines Live tooling, Y-axis, or mill-turn experience Bar-fed production experience Familiarity with SPC or process capability concepts High-mix, low-to-medium volume job shop experience

Perform complete setups on CNC Swiss-type lathes Load, verify, and prove out CNC programs at the machine Install guide bushings, collets, bar stock, and tooling Set tool heights, offsets, and work coordinates Configure bar feeders and support production runs Conduct first-article inspections and make adjustments Monitor part quality and maintain process stability Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues Collaborate with programmers, quality, and production teams Maintain a clean, organized workspace following safety standards

What We're Looking ForRequired
2+ years of CNC Swiss setup experience Strong understanding of Swiss machining principles and guide bushing operation Ability to independently set up jobs from prints and setup sheets Proficiency with G-code and CNC controls Ability to read blueprints and GD&T Strong knowledge of tooling, inserts, and offsets Reliable, safety-minded, and detail-orientedPreferred (Not Required)
Experience with live tooling, cross drilling, and milling operations Experience machining small-diameter, tight-tolerance parts Familiarity with unattended or lights-out machining Knowledge of SPC or process capability concepts
