JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active Arizona License Required
• Board Certification: Required
• DEA: Yes
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association)
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in Cardiothoracic Surgery with EVH
• Other Qualifications:
• Graduate from an NCCPA-approved Physician Assistant program OR Master's Degree in Nursing
• Certified or certification-eligible by the NCCPA OR Graduate from an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program
• Completion of RN/NP First Assistant Program (if applicable)
• Medical-Surgical or NP ANCC/AANP Certification
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide Cardiothoracic Surgery care in inpatient and operative settings
• Perform procedures including temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
• Collaborate with a surgical team to ensure patient safety and high-quality care
• Document patient encounters accurately using Cerner EMR
• Participate in rounding and consultations as required
• Provide on-call coverage per scheduled shifts
• Assist in emergency surgical interventions when necessary
