JOB REQUIREMENTS
Licenses: Active Texas medical license requiredBoard: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (preferred)DEA: Active DEA registration with Texas address requiredCertifications: ACLS (if not Board Certified EM), ATLS, NIHSS, BLS, PALS, TNCC per hospital policyExperience: Emergency Medicine experience requiredOther Qualifications:Completion of application packet with CV, photo ID, board certification, and referencesProof of immunizations or positive titers for required vaccines (Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Flu)TB screening within the last year (Quantiferon, T-Spot, or 2-step skin test accepted)Chest X-ray and questionnaire required if TB positiveMust provide CME documentation (minimum 4 stroke hours annually and 9 trauma hours per 3-year period)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients of all agesPerform assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment for acute medical conditionsCollaborate with NP/PAs and nursing teams to ensure continuous patient flow and high-quality outcomesParticipate in trauma, cardiac, and stroke response protocolsUtilize Epic EMR for accurate and timely documentationEnsure adherence to CHRISTUS Health policies, compliance standards, and credentialing requirementsParticipate in required CME training to maintain trauma and stroke readiness
