Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace firms throughout the U.S. with our staffing services for over 65 years. Our Sacramento region international aerospace client has a 2nd shift onsite opening for a Production Supervisor. The shift hours are 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM. The salary range is from $105K - $131K + 10% shift differential (potentially as high as $144K). This is a very hands-on position working with CNC and manual machines. They are looking for someone with either CNC or a manual machining background. The supervisor will be expected to jump in to work directly on the machines as needed. A background working with lathes and or mills machines is required . 7 people on the team (ideally the candidate will have supervised at least that many). The Production Supervisor leads and directs a team of employees in an assigned area of operations such as Metal Fabrication, Assembly, and/or Test. The Production Supervisor is accountable for maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to quality standards and is responsible for meeting customer demand schedules within established cost goals. Supervision may include the management of employees on more than one shift. Drive Continuous Improvement: Apply lean manufacturing tools and mentor team members in their use. Manage Resources Budgets: Provide input on resource planning, overtime, and productivity for monthly and annual budgets. Monitor Performance Solve Problems: Review KPIs daily and lead problem-solving using methods like 8 Step, 5 Why, and Fishbone. Ensure Quality Compliance: Identify and process non-conforming materials to minimize scrap and rework. Lead Develop Teams: Allocate resources, make staffing decisions, and coach employees to support business growth. Required Skills / Qualifications: High School education required, prefer Bachelor's or Associate's Min 5 years of supervisory experience in a machine shop environment Min 5 years with lathes, grinding, or similar machine shop (e.g. mills) experience that includes: Deep understanding of cellular manufacturing practices Comfortable teaching the use of manufacturing based continuous improvement skills (standard work, 5S, material replenishment, etc.) Intermediate skill level with MS Office software This is an ITAR facility - U.S. Persons required (Green Card is fine)
